Apparently Ancelotti to Real Madrid is happening very soon!

How funny for the deluded Evertonians if he was to leave - guess those dug-outs weren't famous enough 😁

Wolves, Spurs, Palace and potentially Everton all looking for new managers now...

No shortage of available options for any of them.

Based upon our second half of the season I would say YES.

Feels unlikely that anyone is going to take him off our hands.

Nuno Espirito Santo remains the favourite to become manager of #CPFC after three days of talks with the Premier League club.

Expect Eddie Howe to finally end up at Everton. Could be why he turned down Celtic last week, as Ancelotti to Real Madrid won’t have came over night. Would be a risky appointment, I feel. Given that when he did get given money, he splashed it on Ibe and Solanke.

That escalated quickly. There were only a few random rumours on the weekend and now he's gone.

Everton and Howe is all but done, apparently. That makes me think this has been rumbling in the background for some time, hence Howe's withdrawal from the Celtic role.

Shame, was half hoping he’d gone on to replace Ralph after the inevitable poor start to next season.

Be interesting to see if the Everton/Howe thing happens, especially after the failure at Burnley caused by homesickness and his wife’s inability to settle up north. That being said going from living in Bournemouth to living in Burnley would tip most people over the edge.

Seeing the Everton fans crying after Carlo was picked off by a bigger fish sure is funny after the way they behaved when Koeman jumped ship

Blimey, that would be strange. Expected him to end up at Spurs or Everton. Surely staying at Wolves would have been more preferable?

Reading their forum it sounds like he full out stabbed them in the back.

He'd been making plans for Everton and bought into the vision as recently as last week.

Similar to what Koeman did here.

Although tbf we kind of fucked it ourselves with Koeman.

What I can't get my head around is Ancelloti absolutely panned them for attempting to join the superleague and now he's fucking joined them. Pmsl.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Potter on the move with all these vacancies.

If it wasn't for their odd rivalry, I think he'd have been great for Palace. If Nuno takes that job, and Howe goes to Everton, I can't see where Potter will go to be honest. The only option is Spurs but they want more of a name I'd imagine.

Some on their forum want Conte, Poch or Simeone... There were some of them downplaying Poch for thinking he got lucky with Spurs and wouldn't want him :D

It's hilarious that some on there are spouting how "football is unfair" and about loyalty etc etc, yet they've forgotten how they got Koeman and Marco Silva in.

How you get them is how you lose them.

That isn't beyond the realms of possibility.  They chucked enough cash at Ancelotti to get him, so an out of contract Conte may also be enticed.

Not entirely sure what Potter has done to deserve much more than the job he's got.

Pretty much zero progress in the two years he's been in role versus the two years that Hughton delivered. Exactly the same number of wins in all four seasons, bottom six in all four. What's he actually achieved?

Seem to remember reading that Howe was a Everton fan

I agree  but I do not think Howe's wife ever moved to Burnley for the reasons you indicate.

I wonder what the odds were on Ancelotti leaving such a massive club for such a tinpot outfit. Has anyone seen  our resident betting expert, Heiselberg?

He probably got on it in January at 70/1 and is busy planning his retirement in the South of France.

Plenty of nice locations within commuting distance of Burnley. You don't think that the Burnley first team players live within the sheep-fold do you ?

Ask any Brighton fan and they’ll tell you that He’s completely changed the way that Brighton play. They’re actually a really good team but they’re just lacking a half decent center forward. They create a lot of good chances, just don’t put them away.

However, Just keeping Brighton in the league is an achievement, to be honest.

Given the resources at someone like Everton / Tottenham I think he’d do really well.

Only in the "rumour" and "Gossip" bit of BBCSport I know, but Everton may consider Stevie Gerrard as a replacement for Ancelotti. Really? I bet the Dug Out fans would welcome him with open arms. Am I the only one who thinks this would never happen in a million years?

Very very unlikely but how funny would it be?

Whats the chances Eddie Howe was hanging on for a PL job and then when a few come available he gets none of them 😂. Everton talking to NES and Lage all but confirmed for Wolves. Would Palace take a chance on him, looking less likely

Dreadful buy that would be. Total system player, gets a tonne of goals because chucking the ball into the box over and over is the only way Burnley know how to play. Can't see Grealish and Traore hitting the byline and whipping it in on every attack so he will get very few goals. Honestly wouldn't have him over Adams.

Bad news for us if so. That's another team we're unlikely to finish above.

Why? Nuno isn't that great and he has a hell of a job on his hands.

His Wolves team was only 2 points above us last season. Hardly an insurmountable gap.

And they are a much more talented and expensively assembled team. Plus Eze is out till Christmas. I think they may be a good outside bet for relegation.

Wolves fan up there has said that a number of rumblings that Nuno was unhappy with the club, and that the 'preferred leak and gossip' was that he was a bit homesick, and lockdown prevented him seeing his family.

The other comment doing the rounds was that he was pissed off with the direction of the club, and speculated that the Chinese owners were losing interest. Sound familiar ?

Nuno is a difficult one to call though, did a great job at Wolves but that was largely on the back of Wolves agent connection enabling signing of Portuguese players. Could be a different story faced with a mediocre squad at somewhere like Palace, or even without access to what might be his preferred player market

Zaha making his annual transfer request. Might actually happen this time too as he has 2 years left so probably their last chance to sell and make good money off it. Probably worth about £35m, but United have a 25% sell-on so will only make about ~£26m off him. Could be in a lot of trouble if they don't spend well this summer.

Posted

Baffles me why Zaha signed that contract a few years ago, and then has wanted to leave every summer since. Also there needs to be a buyer for him to leave…who would buy him?

Not consistent enough for the top 6, could interest someone like Everton or Villa. Rest of the league can't afford him. May try his luck abroad maybe?

Zaha is a classic West Ham signing

Caveat that it is in the Sun but Norwich linked with £10m move for Ajer at Celtic who is in the last 12 months of his deal. Would be an ideal Vesty replacement and IIRC right footed so good partner for Salisu. As for Zaha, optimistic to think he will have moved by pre season training. Doubt if CP will sell unless it’s a silly offer - which won’t happen with the market a bit down for all bar elite players like Kane - until the new manager in place and formulated their plans with him in and out of them. Plus Eze out effectively for most of next season at full throttle even if the Achilles has healed by new year.

He might be unmanageable. Does his own thing and that's it? Would put most clubs off.
