SaintBobby Posted 8 August, 2021 Share Posted 8 August, 2021 Have to confess, I'm not feeling very optimistic. I think we probably are "relegation fodder". I dont mean certain to be relegated, not at all. But probably in the bottom six or seven teams and - if we do stay up - probably not doing so with much to spare in the tank. It's hard to draw much from the pre-season friendlies. I think the squad is a bit thin though and the loss of Ings is serious. But hey, I thought the same when Koeman arrived and we'd sold a lot more than just our centre forward going into that season...

Is Ralph trying to show the board how thin we are squad wise? Why doesn’t he just tell them? Fuck spending 2.5m on a couple of new TVs and a cost of paint, we could buy a new striker with that. LiberalCommunist Posted 8 August, 2021 Share Posted 8 August, 2021 Say it quietly, but I think Walcott looks sharper in this pre-season than in any time over the last five years. We could well get four or 5 goals from him over this season.

All ifs and buts tho, but what a huge goal that was or else we'd likely have gone down. That doesn't make us comparable to Swansea in any way or form.
