I guess it’s all opinions but I thought Ely was poor and out of depth his lack of pace is the big problem.

Perraud looks a good buy, Salisu reads it well and his pace helps,Stephens did well, Romeu was very good but my MOTM was Diallo back to how he started last season.

Forster made 2 good saves but Levante had no creativity or finish.

Tella looks lively, we are all pissed off its Vila but if we can get in a poacher who likes tap ins we will be ok as number of crosses that fall to no-one or not quite to us we will be safe.

Delaney in, Armstrong in and would like someone like Chris Wood as back to goal we are awfully lightweight

Their first team, including their 2 top goal scorers from last season, Morales and Marti,  have a home game against Alaves tomorrow.

I agree about those saves from Forster though. The first one was a real worldy.  If McCarthy had played, Levante would almost certainly have scored.

Literally the only reasonable and plausible explanation would be that a bunch of players are having to isolate after going for a meal together or something.

They were all sat in the stands so can't be that .

Not sure we should overthink it too much but with so many pre-season games the subs just disrupt and also reassure the players on the pitch that they don't have to worry about doing 90 minutes, there is always an easy out for them. Having only 4 subs was a reminder that they'd have to grit it out. It also gave the rest of the squad the chance to just relax and even if they were there watching none of the hassle of changing, prep, warm up, anticipation and then disappointment of not playing.

I think given the number of subs and the second team cb pairing we may have had a secret behind closed doors friendly with a couple of youngsters, Mccarthy not being in suggests that too.

Second lineup maybe

Macca

Livramento bednarek vest ferry

Armstrong youth

Walcott djenepo

Obafemi youth

Likewise, same reply. I have my strong doubts that it will be.

Ticket office didn't have a clue did they. Plus I pointed out to them I had halfway line seats selected and no equivalent exists as centre blocks of Itchen are closed, they really couldn't be less interested,  if the Kingsland is closing Saturday tell us now so we have a chance of moving to a decent spot not just what's left over on match day.

Does anyone know if the Kingsland stand is open for Saturdays game?

I purchased mine over the phone yesterday and requested Kingsland seats, and was told it wont be open on Saturday as work still being done on seats and concourse.

They'd already sold quite a few in the Kingsland so I wonder when they'll get round to confirming that to those of us who have already purchased 🤔

Just been on the site to get tickets for son and grandson and the Kingsland, most of the Itchen and the Northam are not available.

The young man in the ticket office told me that they had set aside some seats in the Itchen for those of us who had been kicked out of the Kingsland. He then gave me a ticket for seat M83 and told me that it was in the block directly opposite the one that I had bought in block 32. Like hell it was. I was tucked up in the corner about 40 yards nearer the goal line. The fellow on my left spent the whole match leaning forward and his head blocked out the left hand half of the pitch. I had the sun straight in my eyes for the first hour and struggled to see anything.

A classic case of bait and switch. Offer one thing and then change it for an inferior product.

I've just had two emails confirmaing that my tickets for the Kingsland for tomorrow have been cancelled and that we shall be moved to the Itchen. This is not good enough.

I'm happy with it! 😁

I was in Kingsland block 31 and they just sent me an email saying...

We have reassigned your tickets to the Itchen side of the ground in our Hospitality seating between blocks 6-8.

You will also have access to the Saints Bar on the day which will open from 1pm and allow you to purchase drinks and food throughout in the Mick Channon lounge and will also be open after the match for an hour.

Same, except it doesn't actually say where I'll be. But that's OK, Saints - I didn't pick a particular area or anything.

Oh wait, I did.

Tickets in the affected areas should never have been on sale. And to let us know just 24 hours beforehand is all a bit silly.

Can't even get through to the ticket office on the phone. Sigh.

I take this bit back. Did eventually manage to get through and spoke to a helpful chap, who sounded fairly frustrated with the decision himself.

Apparently the club left it to the 11th hour as they hoped Kingsland would be ready by now. Albeit you'd think that if it wasn't sorted for Wednesday, it'd be pretty obvious it wasn't going to be sorted by tomorrow...

I've just got through to the TO after a fair wait but I got cut off in mid chat. I was told that I would be put in either Block 4  Block 5 which is a long way off centre. I think I shall pop along to the TO later this afternoon and if there is nothing suitable I shall ask for a refund.

They've only had sixteen months to get the Kingsland ready. Why the rush?

I couldn't see any evidence of padded seats whn I was there on Wednesday. There again, I couldn't see much of anything.

My son went to the TO at lunchtime where they confirmed that the Kingsland wouldn't be open tomorrow. They wouldn't let him choose another seat there and then, he was asked to do it tomorrow!!

Strangely blocks 29 and 34 are showing as available in the Kingsland on the ticket site, must be an error I guess?

I'm just leaving the stadium. The best seats that they could offer me were up in the corners and my grandson can't go so I asked for and got a refund for both seats for tomorrow.

There is no sign of any work taking place in the Kingsland. No vans parked outside or anything.

I am being moved from 35 to block 3 shambles

Going to be a really small crowd as well with whole Kingsland and Northam stands empty and a scattering of fans in the Chapel, bit depressing really.

MLG will be hunting down directors in hospitality from the look of it 😆

I've been upgraded as well from block 31

The Ings announcement seems to have completely deflated the fan base, so it's not a big surprise I guess. Wouldn't surprise me if we have a slow start to the season, with this feeling around the club.

Yeah I agree but not even filling two stands for a Saturday 3pm friendly against decent opposition at cheap prices should worry the club, at least against Levante the Northam was open and made a bit if noise, will be really dead today

Athletic Bilbao are playing Liverpool tomorrow afternoon. So I expect that, like Levante did, they will field a reserve team against us this afternoon. Just as well, if McCarthy is going to be in goal.

For those who weren't at the Levante game but have a Kingsland ticket for this one, the procedure is that you join a small queue by a fenced off area in front of the exact centre of the Itchen, with your ticket in your hand and one of the staff standing there will exchange it for a random ticket he has in his hand. Once inside another member of staff will guide you through, advising you to have a drink in the bar before you take your seat.

Just been online to see about tickets and of course it's £15 on the day, I've got to get there, the choices are right in the corner and nobody else I know is going: think I'll save myself the bother if it's only a reserve team we are playing.

Reserve team or not, this’ll be my first game since we beat Villa 2-0 in February last year.

Yes, I'll be there too. I estimate the crowd for the Levante game was about 6 or 7,000. So, as it's the weekend, there could be around 10,000 there this afternoon.

Anybody out there with newer information?

Fingers crossed🤞

Not sure we are allowed to show it with 3pm Saturday Black out. Full round of football league fixtures today.

Shouldn’t you try and play your strongest team that is likely to start the first game.

Really odd selection process in these last two game’s although maybe Ralph is adopting the same alternate selections with the whole team now , not just the keepers.

Maybe Ralph’s new wardrobe has disturbed his thought process

Regardless of the context or anything else I simply cannot believe we are going into our least game before the season starts with Long as a starter up front.

Yep. It's atrocious. I'd have preferred to have kept and played N'lundulu. And he's shit.
