Then ask yourself why it is released to the media?

Im not a climate change sceptic. Of course the climate is changing. It always has and it always will.

But you are a sceptic Whitey, because no matter how many times you have the facts about the unprecedented rate of warming in the post-industrial era explained to you, no matter how much scientific literature you are presented with showing that warming is only accounted for when CO2 emissions are factored into the models, you still always dismiss or ignore it and fall back on the old "climate changes naturally anyway" claim that is straight from the denialists' playbook.

Perhaps it's time you changed your avatar.

Statistics aren’t real IIRC.

What baffles me is how Whitey and the other fingers in the ears think that showing the climate has always changed is some kind of gotcha - as if one excludes the other.

Katie Hopkins, MLT, Neil Oliver, David Icke or even AlexJones perhaps. He does seem perIlously close to the edge of that rabbit hole.

It’s a religion.

I have never said that. There are factors much greater than mankind alone.

Not us alone. We couldn’t come close to doing that by ourselves.

This is just boring, you do this every time. Talk in riddles, go round in circles until eventually you admit man is effecting the climate and you don’t have a clue by how much.

Iam in Morocco tonight and it's fucking freezing, not sure if that's any help to anyone?

I’m in Cancun airport last two weeks it’s been 4 degrees above the average for the time year, humidity making it feel even hotter. Next week it’s cooling down. Make of that what you will

Or under a mile of ice. Take your choice.

We shall never be under water.

Doesn't that rather depend on where you live ? If it wasn't for the sea wall we would flood with every 10 metre tide.

Affecting.

And nor do you or anyone else.

Of course. But who is this ‘we’ whereof you speak?

I rather thought that we were talking about the world in general. More locally, Britain is rebounding from the weight of ice pressing on it during the last ice age. In 12,000 years the sea has risen about 80 metres - sea ‘Isostatic Rebound’. The north is rising 10cm per century and the south sinking about 5cm per century.

We - myself, my wife, our son, and all the other people living within 10 miles of us.

No, so the best thing we can do it rely on the experts to try and work it out as best they can. The fact that we are heating the planet and it could potentially be catastrophic is not in doubt, the only questions that remain are what happens next and what do we do about it.

OK, I'm going to try one more time to get through to you, though I don't hold out much hope of success.

There is a very high degree of confidence among the climate science community that approximately 100% of current observed warming is attributed to human activity.

This tool was developed by researchers at Oxford University

This is not 'religion', it is actual science.

That's just an assumption you've made.  At no point have I ever stated that.

Oh okay. You love immigrants and want more?

We really need to keep that desertfication and glacier melt going if so

How can it be cold in Morocco? I’ve just spoken to my folks who have been out in southern Spain for the past few weeks, they say it’s getting to the point where it’s too hot, getting above 30 degrees (though today was bearable as it dipped back below 25).

Normally I would, however won't that contribute to climate change ?

True true. Life is so swings and roundabouts.

Whereabouts in Morocco btw?  I was in Agadir in February / March and it was perfect weather. Sounds unlucky to be cold in June.

I went there in October a few years ago. It was high 20s during the day and low 20s at night, the locals were walking round in coats and trousers all thought we were mad being in polos or shirts and shorts or chinos

Just one quick question for WG, as he seems perilously close to spouting stuff from the Reform company leaflet I have on my desk here.. "We have raging inflation from energy cost and Net Zero as the Government put ideology ahead of energy security [!] and the cost of living". The rest of the leaflet is full of such inane and juvenile and innumerate trivialities. Shame I couldn't collar the canvasser..

How much do you pay for a unit (1kWh) of electricity?

I suggest you re-read my post carefully as it contains all the information to answer your question.

Obviously somebody 'made it up'; whether it was written by the local candidate or Reform Head Office gave the text to cut and paste I haven't a clue but it's on the leaflet on my desk which I'm retaining in case I ever meet the twat.

I'll ask him the question too: how much do you pay for a kWh of electricity. He doesn't look bright enough to understand the question.  Let's forget standing charges for the moment although they really impact the poorer.

Is that the one that claims UK electricity is double the price in France and three times what it is in the US?  I had the same exchange online with one of their candidates. Actual prices are almost identical to France (French standing charge varies depending on how much you use) and about the same as the average price in the US. He scuttled off too

Go to Taroudant. Well worth it - walled old city full of one man band workshops making furniture, leather goods etc.

Martin Lewis is constantly banging on about it on his BBC show, oblivious to the fact the licence fee is funded by exactly the same method.

Mystery that it was going to be hot in Turkey in June. That’s not ‘never get it right’ that’s just being clueless.

Quote

It was the night that Europe turned its back on net zero and embraced the Right. The European Greens experienced the second largest decline of all parties, dropping to just 7 per cent after Sunday’s European Parliament elections. The gains the Greens had made in 2019, when it secured its highest ever vote share off the back of Greta Thunberg’s mass climate protests, had been effectively eradicated overnight.

Finally, reality dawns.
