Except you don't. You simply have a weather warning you aren't able to understand despite the definitions of each category being posted numerous times, including above.

I'll let you know when the severe weather hits, given there is a warning offered.

Here you go. Either I or Early Years Literacy can explain it to you if needed.

Yellow Warning: Yellow warnings can be issued for a range of weather situations. Many are issued when it is likely that the weather will cause some low level impacts, including some disruption to travel in a few places. Many people may be able to continue with their daily routine, but there will be some that will be directly impacted and so it is important to assess if you could be affected. Other yellow warnings are issued when the weather could bring much more severe impacts to the majority of people but the certainty of those impacts occurring is much lower. It is important to read the content of yellow warnings to determine which weather situation is being covered by the yellow warning.

We have always had weather. The climate has always and will always change over periods of time. The issue is that the activities of a certain species have accelerated and are accelerating the speed at which the climate is changing and that is having and will have a detrimental effect on the climate and weather conditions of the planet.

It was not a yellow warning, can you not read? Maybe your literacy skills needs sharpening. Probably don't have time given your wide-ranging expertise in literally every topic.

The Weather app in ‌‌iOS 16‌‌ is able to send a notification if there is a severe weather alert issued near you, so you can get a heads-up for major rain storms, floods, hurricanes, heat waves, tornados, and more

The one that literally says on the screen under the warnings UK Met Office - ie the people who issue the warnings in yellow amber and red categories you cataclysmically dim fuck.

If you don't want the notifications then switch them off. I or a baby baboon can show you how to do that too.

If you have to spell it out the its meaning is not generally clear.

Well done, Apple give their own warnings for weather taken from the Met Office.

You are the one talking about the Met and getting arsy about it, not me.

That's a moot point though. People like logistics companies, airports, ferry companies etc want to know about every possible eventuality whilst some people just want to know if the roof is going to be ripped off. The fact that some people deliberately choose to get notifications and then compain about them is bizarre.

It's literally there on the screen when you read the notification. No one can make it more simple for you - not being able to grasp it is down to you no-one else. .

Mate, why all the anger?  You literally brought up the Met Office on your own, no one else. I am simply highlighting that Apple give their own 'warnings' for weather taken from the Met. Unsure why that winds you up so much. the Met could give any colour of Warning and Apple do with that what they like.

If you can't grasp that, maybe stick to one of the other many specialised topics you have up your sleeve.

That dissembling technique only works if you don't have a near 100% track rfecord of missing the point and posting shite for 15 years or so. Posting shite so comprehensively and consistently that you have to keep changing your name because no-one takes you seriously. How about Bert from Bognor for the next incarnation? It's time to hide again.

Great point. Is this related to the Met Office also?

Maybe, Tim, you could just debate with a bit of respect? Take flippant posts as they are, as this is just a football forum?

If debating with an ounce of respect, courtesy and politeness is beyond you (like it is with Soggy), then maybe don't do it.

It's easy. Don't dump shite over every thread and people wont get on your case. It clearly bothers you because you keep changing your name. The real wonder is why you havent figured out that acting in the same way everytime, regardless of what name you use, is going to generate the same responses.

Don't think I have ever suggested otherwise?

So what are you arguing against then? The Apple alerts are based solely on the Met Office alerts, so it's the Met Office that issue them and decide the severity of them. Your iphone app is simply the medium through which you get them - from the Met Office.

It's nothing to do with the media. The warning that Piggy came up with came from the Met Office. I appreciate that experts are nowadays often derided but I would prefer to follow their weather interpretation than his.

From that 'severe weather warning' we have the following phrases :

Quote

MAY cause flooding, PROBABLY some damage, delays....POSSIBLE, loss of power....LIKELY

I've made the key words BIGGER as you have a habit of missing most points.  Lots of if, maybe, possibly etc.  I can assure you that your 90 year old father living alone would have been absolutely fine today.  The weather we had (seems to have passed now with blue skies and a bit of sunshine), was NO WORSE than any January or February rainy day (7mm rain today v 16mm on a rainy day in January!). Zero thunderstorms as usual - the last 'galactic' thunderstorm that was predicted yielded two rumbles in the distance.

The point is not that the MET office is issuing warnings, it's that it feels it has to cover pretty much every eventuality with a possibly or a maybe so that IF something happens no one can blame them.

That language is then interpreted by other media outlets as definitely going to happen and we're all going to die!  It's akin to the Express and their constant headlines such as 'UK set to freeze for the next week' because the temperature is forecast to be -1 in the isle of Skye or somewhere.  It's clickbait for the hard of thinking.  No wonder you lap it up ;)

I guess you're in 'another country' on holiday with fuck all better to do than look at mong boards!  You can thank me later for providing such a public service for you, as without my post about the weather warning in North Somerset, doubtless you would have been oblivious and continued to ignore your vulnerable, lonely father ;)

If you knew the answer why ask the question.

Maybe you should stick to more important issues, like chicks with dicks.

Your stupidity never ceases to amaze me

Do you know what a rhetorical question is or do you need that spelling out to you as well?

For an intelligent man you say some really dumb things on climate. Guess what? dust bowl conditions in the American mid west in the 1930s did not equate to high global temperatures, they were at or below average. It was the 1940s which were actually warmer than average so if someone wanted to cherry pick data to prove warming you wouldnt start then. I dont know how clear you need it.

If we want to achieve 1880 temperatures, wouldn't a better starting point be to achieve 1880 population figures, given that it is mankind that is causing the planet to heat up?

Reducing the population by about 6.5 billion people seems like a good start.

Totally. Reduce it to 1 billion and pretty much everybody can drive massive V8s eat lobster as much as you like and park in central London. Trouble is we cant agree with other countries about paperwork on carrots so Im thinking agreeing which 7 out of 8 of us has to top ourselves will be problematic

Thanks for the weather update. It's nice to know that you do have some use after all.

I realise that you are the holiday Taliban and love to tell people what they can and cannot do on holiday.  I make no apologies for coming on here to see what is happening during my team's most interesting transfer window for years. If you had a genuine interest in Saints I am sure that you would do likewise.

I will be watching the match on Friday night. Is that OK with you???

Ever wondered why I’m not the only person who thinks you’re possibly the most stupid person on here? (Quite an achievement given the competition) When you think it’s other people it usually isn’t

This is the Mer de Glace on Mont Blanc.  We keep getting told glaciers are disapearing as if it's something that has only started happening recently. This would suggest they've been melting since around 1820, just before the end of the Little Ice Age. How much of this warming is due to us and how much is natural would be pretty hard to tell.

Let the climate change decide which ones bite the dust and accept that we can't save everyone?

That is well in hand and being dealt with as we speak. And before anyone laughs and trolls, let us think for one minute; if someone on a football forum can think of this as an idea,do you really believe the elites and top scientists have not already suggested this? They know. They are doing it among other things.

But no, let us hail the electric car as the savour LOL.
