It's not just the first team...

Checking my Fantasy Team I accidentally clicked on the PL pages and noticed a link to Tables (plural) which confused me a bit. Have to admit I only ever follow the first team, but this also has the Tables for PL2 and the U18 leagues (as no doubt does the clu OS, but rartely check that either).

Current tables
First Team 14th in League of 20 (2 wins in last 5 games)
PL2  Team 13th in League of 13 (5 defeats in last 5 games)
U18  Team  13th in League of 13 (1 draw in last 5 game )

Looks like the whole playing side is going tits up from top to bottom, aany hope of loads of new youngsters coming through to save the day looks to be a forlorn one.

I really like RH and hope we keep him but it does appear that it's time to rip up his "playbook" and have a total tactical rethink.

The whole brand of football Ralph has employed at the club at every level is failing .. it’s not in our dna .. we are starting to lose our identity

It doesn't look great, but not sure it tells the full story. For all the talent we've produced, we haven't exactly won many FA Youth Cups. As a club we tend to promote young players early so they're playing in much higher year groups.

If we lost all our season's games for a youth side, but one graduate made it through to the first team and was able to contribute well, I'm not sure we'd be that bothered about the defeats. Unfortunately we're in a fallow period. What I'm wondering is when did that begin...? If academy players like JWP join at the age of 8, that would have been with us pre-administration, so have we actually produced anyone of note in the Liebherr era and beyond? Maybe the situation isn't just something we can blame on Reed/Jaidi/Dodd et al.

Top that with this seasons scenario

1st team, small squad, injury crisis,  6 reserve team on bench/in team, get smashed everyone moans

Reserves then promote 6/7 under 18s to play strong reserve side, get smashed everyone moans

U18s promote a team of U16s to play older developed teams, get smashed,  everyone moans

Etc etc

Exactly. People who can't see it are just looking for a pattern to suit their agenda.

Pretty rotten at all levels just now. And just like our first team the B team and u18 are not safe from an occasional absolute pasting

B Team have lost games 7-1 (twice) 8-2, 5-0 and 5-1

u18 have lost games 7-0, 7-1, 6-0, 5-0

Some serious mentality/pride/talent issues

This must be quite worrying for the Management team as the club's strategy is to buy young players with potential eg Salisu, Diallo, Djneppo, McAdams  etc, develop them and sell them on, whilst supplementing them with the cream of the Academy crop.

It seems, for the moment, at least that talent from the home grown crop has withered significantly.

10 years ago we were a League 1 club that had just come off the back of administration, having our academy and supporting staff pilfered, and suffering a reduced level / quality of youngsters as a result of our financial position and lowly league standing. Fast forward 10-11 years and all of those 17 / 18 / 19 / 20 year olds that would have joined as schoolboys when we were a premier league team did just that - to another premier league team, not us.

Then you've had a first team that had 12 senior players fit at the start of the year 🤷‍♀️..... and people are surprised that our youth teams have suffered even more? seriously? Some of you can call it "excuses" all you want. But the reality is that the quality in the academy sides is not what it was, and the academy squads have been stretched even further by the need to promote players upwards to help the first team.

Seems to be the norm at the moment.
