They are losing their minds in Scotland.  10 day isolation if you come in contact with a positive case, even if you have been double jabbed (with the booster) - apparently

I had the Astra-Zeneca for the first two, funnily enough just after my second they decided to stop giving it to my age range due to the complications!

So I'd probably have Pfizer for any booster, or moderna.

I had AZ for first two, Moderna last week for booster.

Same here. In fact, CB Fry fans, I am writing this from the waiting room of the vaccination centre. Just on the 15 minute post jab session to let the microchip log in to my bloodstream.

Might be the last post I ever send.

1m Omicron infections by the end of the month according to experts. Prepare for lockdown......

We met a primary school administrator called Muzi Linda, who tested positive for COVID-19 last week and I asked him to describe his symptoms.

"Well, I've had a headache, blocked nose, wasn't too runny, I've been coughing, that was the major one."

When I asked him how he would rate the severity on a scale 1 to 10, he said: "A '4' honestly, because it wasn't that bad, only after the first day, I decided to take a pill for my headache but that was it."

Last week, the hospital treated 42 patients suffering from the new strain but Dr Abdullah said he was, "pleasantly surprised" to discover that two thirds were using "room air" - not oxygen or ventilators - to help them breath.

"The picture could change but what is certain is that there is a difference this time around compared to the previous three waves (of COVID-19)."

I talk to every one of my colleagues who has been working in this hospital and they have all made the same observation (as well as) colleagues at other hospitals and it is the same picture."

Had my booster with on Monday. Spent the 15 minutes in the waiting room after chatting with an old guy about Saints. He went to Newcastle away this season and said a female Saints fan fell down the stairs after the match, severely broke her leg and spent a week in hospital in Newcastle.

Now I'm more worried about going to St James' Park than I am about covid.

If ever there was evidence of the effect of Covid on cancer treatment, I offer this. I have a letter in my possession dated from 24/11. I am quoting directly from it.

“Unfortunately at this present time, due to the pressures of the cancer backlog, I am currently booking complex cancer patients into theatre slots in February 2022.Therefore I am not in a position to offer this lady surgery at Imperial College, which is something I am sorry for.”

My wife received this letter two weeks ago on 26th Nov, she passed away on Sunday.

I remember you posting about it and that you had some small hope around the time Greg Gilbert died. Terrible time for you and family. So sorry to hear of your loss.

All the talk on every news channel this morning has been how 2 doses are not enough, get your booster, omicron is doubling every couple of days, it’s a race against the clock, the government may bring in more restrictions tagged on at the end.

When was xmas effectively ruined for many last year? 18 Dec wasn't it?

What are the chances that similar 'threats' are leaked around 13th Dec, suggesting not enough people have taken the 'booster'

Get ready...

What are you saying? That a virus that is known to mutate is mutating and that is something to be suspicious about?

Brett likes to say things which are known truths to anybody with a rudimentary understanding of science, but nuanced in a way which makes them sound like government conspiracies.

Any idea who benefits from this "government conspracy" or even why they are conspiring?

It’s a conspiracy to upgrade average human intelligence. It works by spreading a nonsense, full of inconsistencies rumour through infowars about vaccinations being dangerous. The credulous and stupid won’t take it and die.  Hey presto Darwinism updated for the Information age

France are already talking about jab 4 ffs.

I really don't understand why anyone is so outraged that you might have to have a jab a couple of times a year for the foreseeable future. With my booster jab it took ten minutes out of my day and I never thought about it again. Why is having a jab to protect you such a big deal?

No, I’m just pointing out the fact that there are loads of reasons why people end up using the health service. I used to work in A&E years ago and at the weekends it was always full of people in sports kit with injuries. Obesity is a big problem but fatties are not the only people clogging it up.

Obesity is a far bigger issue for the NHS than someone spraining their ankle playing sport. Unless you’re particularly stupid you probably know that already, but then it is you we are dealing with so can’t be sure.

I never said it wasn’t a bigger issue, try reading.

So what’s you’re point then? You countered my point obesity by going on about people hurting themselves doing sport. Yet another thread where you’ve tied yourself up in knots. Come on do your standard “it’s not rocket science” line now when you’re getting out of your depth 🤣 🙄

My point was that there are many reasons why people end up in A&E, sports injuries was just one example that you jumped on.

Fuck me you are a thick cunt.

Oh look the abuse starts, how predictable. 🤣

you clearly haven’t understood my point (yet again) yep, people go to hospital for all sorts of reasons, we agree. Some get mobiles phones stuck in their arseholes and needles stuck in their japs eye. Brilliant stuff mate, well done. 🤣

Unfortunately we’re living in a world that’s going through a global catastrophe. It increasingly looks like it’s just taken a massive turn for the worse and they’re just being honest about that.

They’re not any happier to say that than you are hearing it.

Actually if it’s true as it seems that in fact this variant is a lot more mild it might actually be the luckiest break mankind has had for centuries
