What's really going on.

After today's appallingly bad display I got to wondering about what's really happening to our club. It seems like a place no one really wants to be at,it seems to me that the fact the club is for sale, the players can't see any positive momentum at the club with regards to ambition, a manager who isn't given a penny to spend but goes with it and the fact that the better players want out is just a recipe for disaster. Crap always rolls downhill and I'd question any manager staying at a club that won't back him, why would Ralph be happy to sit knowing it nots going to get better any time soon.... The silence from the whole club is deafening and that's more of a worry than the rubbish on the pitch....

As much as I'd have wanted to us to win as with every match, Brighton are a half decent team, as are we and they could also be higher up in the league were it not for a run of poor results (they've also been hit by injuries and bizarre refereeing decisions).

The club hasn’t changed since 4 months ago, when we were battling towards the top end of the table.

The club is for sale, has been for some time. We have no money at the best of times and covid has meant we have less. Gao is letting Semmens run the club (and I think he’s doing a decent job, considering he has his hands tied behind his back). we’re effectively trying to tread water and stand still (I.e avoid relegation) until we are taken over.

If Ralph is unhappy with how we’re run, he can walk. He signed a contract knowing the terms and conditions. Also, what has Ralph done to suggest we should back him? We’ve not won a game in 12. The last manager we ‘backed’ (we spent 20m on a player of his choice) was pellegrino. How did that work out?

Ings wants out. Do you blame him? I’m sure other players also would jump at the opportunity to move on. Mainly because of point 2.

We are no different now to where we were at 4 months ago. Except our run of massively over achieving has come to an end, as we (the sensible ones on here) knew it would. We’ve been found out and don’t have a plan to change it.

To be honest, I’m sick of the excuses. Yes we’ve had a horrible run of injuries. Yes the owner isn’t great, we know that. However, he isn’t the one picking the same side every week in the same system, expecting results to just change.

Regarding ‘the silence from the club’, what do you expect? A transcript of the play match debrief or perhaps the board meeting to be streamed on YouTube. What do you expect them to say? 😂

It comes from the top down.  I think we need to get the sale done, hopefully to an owner who is interested and knows how to make businesses of this scale succeed.  Survive this season and maybe things will happen.

I have no clue what success is anymore. The hope of maybe one day winning something is losing its appeal on me as I grow older. As we all know, it's the hope that kills you.

Success for us is staying in the Premier League. As it is regarded for anyone below the top 10

Boring as fuck tho ..I want us to win something ...payed out enough following them ..had some decent days out but watching wot I saw today I’d rather us have a clear out go down a league re-group a new owner new manager  bring in some new faces get promoted as champions ..atleast we’d have a chance of winning the championship..mid to lower table premier league is boring .. no atmosphere at st Mary’s With our version of the prawn sandwich brigade fans is like a library these days ..was better atmosphere in league one and the championship.so let’s go down a tier and they all fuck off then we’d be left with our fans vocal support back again..instead of the Dorset and such areas librarians

You're supporting the wrong club if you want us to win something!

Where we are now/what we are doing is probably par the course without investment/engaged ownership. Decent sized club, chance of some good seasons every now and then if things click into place, but without investment any fun will be fleeting and not sustained.

We were massively spoilt between 2010-2016. Let's not forget that. Those years were not the norm for this club. Success every year, improving on league places every year. That all started at a lower level from an engaged ownership model, some clever investment and a driven/committed group of players.

This get's said about the sale as though it's really easy, it wasn't easy last time, that's why we ended up with Gao. It wasn't easy the time before that, that's why we ended up going into admin. There isn't a massive market for provincial also rans and if we do get a new owner they won't necessarily take us to a better place. We are fucked.
