How much worse can it get for her and the Met? Jesus, from Charles da Silva e de Menezes, knife crime in London, Operation Midland and the criminal investigation into Leon Brittan to a Met cop charged with kidnap and murder, when is she going to resign? Total disgrace, useless at her job and obviously a token LGBT appointment.

A year later, the Met get's placed under special measures. Inevitable and overdue.

No wonder the Dame and her team rode roughshod over the rules and procedures and developed such a poor performing culture.  She probably took her cues from the very top of the London Leadership team.

Dame Cressida said the report had found Mr Khan "did not follow due process and at times his behaviour was oppressive, unreasonable, entirely unacceptable and unfair".

Sir Tom's paper also notes that the mayor's actions were "not in accordance with the relevant legislation".

...and still the record of the Met under Dick shows what a dysfunctional force she/them ran:

Quote

A Metropolitan Police armed officer who used his role to put fear into his victims has admitted dozens of rape and sexual offences against 12 women. David Carrick, 48, who met some victims through dating websites, pleaded guilty to 49 offences, across two decades. The Met has apologised after it emerged he had come to the attention of police over nine incidents, including rape allegations, between 2000 and 2021.

A senior officer said his offending was "unprecedented in policing". Assistant Commissioner Barbara Gray, the Met's lead for professionalism, said: "We should have spotted his pattern of abusive behaviour and because we didn't, we missed opportunities to remove him from the organisation.

What an appropriate name she/them had when she was in charge. Horrible, horrible person.

A better name than Misselbrook - an arrogant, bullying person.

....and two years later, my opinion is totally vindicated:

The Metropolitan Police is plagued by racism, sexism and homophobia and has failed to change despite being told to, a report is expected to say on Friday.
It is said to criticise current and past leadership, and argue that high-profile recent cases such as those of Couzens and rapist David Carrick were not isolated, but symptoms of pervasive shortcomings.

Not a good day for her today (or the Mayor)....the MET is broken it seems

I mean, this is not news, just look at the state of their policing of largely-peaceful events over the last few years....

Shouldn't this be the Sir Mark Rowley thread now?

So what you are saying is that this thread, titled for a lesbian, should actually be acknowledged as being about about a mysogonistic, homophobic, institution. ( Not sure if that is the Met or GM ).

Rowley is good at handling media. Kay Burley trying to do a Paxman with him earlier. Some these people are so shit and asking questions and always think they have a gotcha when can use more sensible line and get better answers.

The Met should take a leaf out of West Yorkshire plod’s book and start a crackdown on burglaries and assault. We’ll done 👏

The police maybe great, but some of the women are fucking ugly….

What happens when those in charge of monitoring the police don't give a shit about the laws?

What the fuck is going on in the Met?

They look out of control and totally unfit for purpose.

The good officers in there must be pretty frustrated.

Too many cunts to turn the ship around.

This happened to my wife just last week. She is a civilian and after having different managers come in over the last few months talking about changing the culture, the New Met and their door open policy. She had a issue that she wanted an answer to, so she emailed her boss and director of the department, she missed out a few useless bosses in between. One of the missed out bosses was caught off guard and wanted my wife disciplined for emailing the director instead of him. In 2023 people still want to manage like it's the 1970's and no one has the balls to stand up to him.

Fortunately my wife in the job for years stood up for herself, but it caused a load of shit last week. He won't be spoken too and her original email still hasn't been addressed.

So you have people at the top and at the bottom that want change. But in the middle there are loads of people that it is just business as usual, who completly ignore any direction they don't agree with. They are often recruited and managed by old mates and the managers below them are reliant on them for promotion, so these people are free to act in whatever way they want.

The police just want a conviction and the justice system doesn't want to be shown to get the wrong result.

Your innocence won't always protect you if you get drawn into the system.
