Comfortable win. The whole team worked their socks off. I was particularly impressed by the 2nf half performance. We never took our foot off the pedal. Confidence oozes through the team when Forster and Walker-Peters both play. Another great goal from Adams. He's certainly scored some spectacular ones. Ward-Prowse was back to his best too.

Just leave it. Seriously you're just getting embarrassing now. Our final ball was poor all game, pretty much every forward player fucked up an easy pass to put a player in at some point in the game yet only one of them gets the abuse.

Totally this, Adams, Miniminio, Diallo, Redmond all at times picked the wrong  pass or did a shit pass. Adams goal came from a shit Adams pass that a slightly better team would have dealt with. Miniminio really should have made that square pass at two nil.

Still we are a team playing below ourselves and hopefully that goes some way to repairng the damage.

Definitely seems to be that way. He should be looking for the pass whenever he has time really.

Eh? He had time to look for a pass instead of hitting that shot. Are you suggesting that is what he should have done?

Two games ago we would have been passing back a LOT more when in those positions.

I'd rather the ball being in the box, which could possibly lead to something like Adams' goal, then going back to the CB's.

I'm not sure about Minamino tbh. I still think he looks like a player suited for a much, much slower league.

I reckon he'll leave Liverpool in the summer but for La Liga.

I think there’s definitely a decent player in there, if he can get on the same wavelength as the rest of them. Definitely a whiff of ‘Japanese Juanmi’ about him though.

He's on par with our other wingers (bar Amstrong) and scored us a couple of goals... I'd prefer him (sadly) to Theo if we were to turn one of these loans into a permanent signing.  Certainly works hard, has decent speed and ball control. With a run of games, he could prove himself to be pretty useful.

No doubt he's got talent, he's very technical. I just don't think his mind or body works too well in this league. All a bit too quick and strong for him.

His talent would be better shown off elsewhere and he could make a really tasty career for himself.

Got the job done, wouldn't go overboard about the performance though.  They are absolutely awful so no barometer at all to measure premiere league quality.  Massive 3 points though,  gives us breathing space.

I thought he at least looked to speed things up a bit when he was on the ball. Terrible miss obviously but that can happen, and he has scored 2 good goals already this season which some of our other attackers - looking at you Redmond - have failed to do in far more appearances.

Passed it? Yeah, absolutely. Armstrong was free directly in the centre of the goal.

Ok you would prefer he passed that ball instead of smashing it straight into the top corner to put us 2 nil up. Fair enough.

Jeez, can't we just celebrate the win and an excellent performance? Redmond didn't even do that bad and still gets slated. Let's concentrate on the positives, stopped the rot on a horrible run, looked comfortable (admittedly against crap opposition, but can only beat what's in front of you). Got players back from injury, Forster looks confident. I'm happy after a match and can watch MOTD for the first time in ages. COYS. (Skates lost too).

Good to see Tella having an impact and us getting back to winning ways with a cleansheet.

Should win hopefully calm nerves.

Shame Ings got injured but hopefully Adams goal will get them flowing for him

Surprised Diallo played the full 90. Guess Ralph really doesn't trust Jankewitz at all after his Man Utd catastrophe

...what? I was talking about the one on one. The shot he scored was an instinctual shot with his first touch, he knew instantly what he was going to do and he did it.

Should have been 3 or 4 with some better decision making in the final third, but a win and a clean sheet I think will be massive for the players, we aren't on that sort of run anymore and we look more solid at the back.

Ings injury is another worry, doesn't seem we can get a break with injuries.

Aside the result, Tella the real big positive, showed real pace that could trouble teams and played more directly trying to get in behind and at the opposition, which many others haven't been doing. Though you could see confidence returning later on in the game, with Armstrong trying to take on people.

Yes the opposition were bad, but on the run we have been on that means very little.

Need to do our best against Man City and then kick on from there.

One thing's for certain the PL will be much better off without Sheffield U - Effing - nited who surely must be the dirtiest, least, skilful team ever to be there. It will be surprising if we don't have four or five injuries to contend with after the dust has settled on this brawl of a match. Adams was lucky not to have had a broken leg after that horrendous late tackle on him, how was that not a red card? At least we stood our ground and refused to be intimidated by this bunch of Yobs.

Impressed with Tella, he's our future and Redmond is our past. Superb strike from Adams. Ings out again. Diallo and KWP need game time to get up to speed and build their fitness. Forster looked good.

A fully deserved win and now more or less safe.

Gotcha, but if a misunderstanding without wishing to go too MLG on yo you said he should ALWAYS be looking for the pass. Anyway UTS enjoy the beers.

A good win and never in danger of losing, bar the odd moment of a poor final ball or finish by the opposition. Tella was very good, lots of energy and some needed pace in the final 3rd.  Stuart Armstrong was as he usually is, a good 7 out of 10.  Diallo was abysmal 1st half but got much better as the game went on.  Adams was very good also and his goal was an absolute beauty.

Well done to the team and manager.  Terrible run ended, bring on Man City 😗

Tella was a real bright spark today. Caused them loads of problems with his running and won plenty of FKs and got the penalty. His positivity and willingness to drive the ball into the box is something we have been sorely missing recently.

He looks like he's gonna be some player for us.

Adams in the box on the byline, Miniminio up with the box with Arnstring free in the centre, Diallo driving forward with players on either side, Redmond close to the corner. No matter how shit we've been none of those passes would have ever have been played back to our CBs.

I wouldn't normally pay any attention to them but in the post-match reaction, Radio Solent are talking about nothing but the team down the road. Smashed 4-1 by relegation threatened Northampton, they're now slithering out of the playoff spots. "No-one thought they could be hit for four by the division's lowest scorers." Aww bless.

The Jackett Out brigade is well and truly up and running. Earlier one of their fans texted calling for Mark Hughes (lol), now one of them is asking for Eddie Howe! As if not one of the >50 clubs above them would be interested in employing him, let alone a PL side.

Next week they have the mighty Salford at Wembley...

Adams will be disappointed to see them relegated. He seems to like playing them.

Thought our long ball tactic worked well today, not too much fannying around at the back with their high press. Tella looked a real handful 1st half. CB's solid, KWP looks a real player and Armstrong continues to impress with JWP a composed performance. Pleased for Adams, great strike injected confidence in him. Diallo looked very nervous 1st half and nearly cost us, but improved as the game went on. On the negative side our decision making on the break was poor, we should have had another couple of goals at least. Redmond , the latest fall guy here, continues to frustrate. I really don't think he has much of a future at this level. Sheffield are not as bad as some seem to think, they played some decent stuff at times but, a little like us, lack that clinical edge and do not have the quality but they battled well to the end and we did well to compete with their physical approach.

Ings out for a month according to RH however which, despite erratic performances of late, is  a blow. Another win should see us over the line.

Blessed relief. Probably the most nervous I’ve been watching such a straightforward Saints win. Pretty much slays any of those slight nerves about being dragged into a relegation battle too.

Man up you big whoopsie

Great to get the win, and should really have scored 5.

Tella really starting to impress, good to have that option, thought Armstrong was excellent again - great running.

Ings looking injury prone again, that won't help raise the transfer fee if he's determined to go. He'll miss the cup game v Bournemouth now and the international break, hopefully back after that.

Diallo and Minamino looked slow, hopefully just getting up to speed.

Bednarek and Vestergaard our best CB partnership.

Good win against a very very poor side.

Really good performances from Minimino, Tella, Armstrong, Bertrand, KWP and Forster. Chez missed two great opportunities one because he is one footed, great goal but otherwise a bit meh ....

When we press it is too high up the pitch with too many bodies which leaves a massive gap in midfield - Good teams will continue to murder us playing like that. The press needs to begin deeper nearer the centre circle so that we can conserve some energy and not leave ourselves exposed.

Oh and throw ins... We lose the ball in 90% of them whether or not we have the throw or not.  Why hasn’t  this been addressed, it’s been an issue now for a long time....

Don’t agree about Che after he scored was a real handful battered their defence . He should have done better with second chance but keeper made good save.

He led line really well
