Honestly some of you need to get a grip about this Redmond stuff.

A win, forgot what that feels like!

He's lucky we were already winning, if that was at level or a goal down...the defender up against him fell on his arse.

Needed that, I thought we managed the 2nd half very well considering the lack of confidence.  SU really are poor.  Fleck should have walked as should the Neanderthal McBurnie.

Solid performance, easy win. Could have had a few more if not for poor decisions with the final ball.

Pretty sure they didn't have a meaningful shot on target. Another comfortable game for Forster.

So good to have Walker Peters back to give us that balance in defence and attack.

I'm very happy, don't get me wrong. but this result was largely due to the opposition failing to score despite some very good opportunities that they should not have had.

But yeah, YAY!!! :D

I fear he deserves what he gets. Confidence is shot and may as well not be on the pitch. Opportunities today to make an impression and either made the wrong decisions or lack of skill let him down. Tella is ten times the player Redmond is atm, fast, attacking, offers a threat and tremendous work rate, none of which you can say about Redmond.

Just leave it. Seriously you're just getting embarrassing now. Our final ball was poor all game, pretty much every forward player fucked up an easy pass to put a player in at some point in the game yet only one of them gets the abuse.

Well done saints. Something at last to build on!

Work to be done though, but hopefully we'll put a bit of run together (ignoring city).

Some real positives in the second half. Forster gives us a bit of quick decision making at the back which was sadly missing with McCarthy. Stuey gets better and better. Kwp definitely improves us. Diallo much better in the second half. Minamino looked much better on the other side when he switched.

Thought the ref was decent today even if you could argue that he should have sent a couple of their players off.

Redmond did try hard when he came on just a shame he always walks it into trouble when through on goal always wants an extra touch

Beer o’clock now.

I  don't think it's appropriate to reference the consuming of alcohol no matter the circumstances. Yes we've won a game of football, but a cup of tea should be more than enough.

Because only one of them has done it consistently over the last 5 years, regressing from a player that actually went past defenders to someone that turns and passes backwards and still manages to give it away more than anyone else.

10 points above Fulham, 10 points below Liverpool. Looking up again :)

(Saintsweb Intelligentsia: "yeah, but Sheff Utd were shite")

They truly were shyte thankfully.

If you are relying on Dave McGoldrick for your goals... well you can see why they are the lowest scoring team in all of Europe.

Needed that. Professional job in the second half, albeit with some terrible decision making in the final third to extend the lead. Great strike from Adams.

Thought the defence was really solid today - has Forster only conceded once this season? Maybe we should stick with the big lump while he keeps putting up the numbers.

10 point gap with 11 to play sound a lot better than the 4 it could've been if this week had gone worse.

Diallo much improved in the second half - think he's a quality player in the making.

Phew.

Absolutely. Never denied saying it. Time will tell if I was wrong as really he's blown hot and cold too, but his strength and passing ability are big attributes regardless of how his goalscoring record holds out.

"his strength and passing ability are big attributes" That's better, SC.

Take that, move on. blue line etc.

Hard to read too much into it due to the absolute dreadful opposition. Worst PL team in a very, very long time. I think that Derby team had a little bit more about them? This lot are proper shithole cloggers. They'll struggle big style next year IMO. Long way back.

Not really much to say, should have been more than 2-0, but I'd have accepted no more than a win today given the quality of the opposition.

Confidence wise and rhythm wise we struggled, but once we got our noses in front and then a 2nd we had more confidence about us. It's amazing what confidence can do to an individual and a collective, as a team and individually we absolutely thrive on it.

No-hit in the next game, let's see what happens next weekend.

Adams goal was an absolutely brilliant strike. When he goes on pure instinct and doesn't have time to overthink he always does better.

Definitely seems to be that way. He should be looking for the pass whenever he has time really.
