Weston Super Saint Posted 24 January, 2009 Posted 24 January, 2009 Pressure from the fans maybe The team does play better away from home Good old fans, always ruining things : roll : How dare they want / expect their team to win a home game, so f**cking demanding.
Alain Perrin Posted 24 January, 2009 Posted 24 January, 2009 Why????? What purpose does it serve for someone (presumably Crouch or associate) to get Fitzhugh Fella to post/plant this (seemingly benign) bit of information? I have no idea.
ulstersaint Posted 24 January, 2009 Posted 24 January, 2009 Here's a theory : Some people are speculating that Lowe isnt about and this is a "Wilde special" done behind Lowe's back. + Crouch at SMS = Wilde is changing sides again. If Lowe tried to block Wilde's actions, Wilde could easily have threatened to withdraw his support for Lowe's power bloc... Please God let this be true..... Could be that Wilde realised that a change had to be made and Lowe refused to dispense with his dutch choice, so Wilde used Crouch to force through his decision. But if so, why didn't Wilde force both dutch guys to leave and bring in a Pearson type (Holloway, Dowie, Boothyord) hile there is still time to avoid relegation?

Who's to say that this won't happen at the Monday press conference? We all know by now to take official/OS announcements with a pinch of salt...e,g, the 'holding' announcement about Wotte taking over. It gives the impression that everything is under control. There again, if my theory holds any water (which they rarely do) why announce Poortvliet leaving on Friday? Even if he left (or got pushed) on Friday....why not leave the announcement until Monday anyway...? Nothing adds up. Not even 2+2
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 25 January, 2009 Author Posted 25 January, 2009 Why????? What purpose does it serve for someone (presumably Crouch or associate) to get Fitzhugh Fella to post/plant this (seemingly benign) bit of information? I have no idea. Good question - and I am still struggling to understand the relevance. All I can find out that Crouch Lowe and Wilde DID meet up on Friday. One of Crouch's original demands as a condition to his £2m investment was the removal of JP. That happened following the meeting and it seems he wanted that known. It also appears however that the meeting ended with no positive solution or agreement being reached between the 3 and so we are where we were except we have a different permanent Dutch head coach who it appears has a rather unpleasant reputation. The conference tomorrow is to introduce Wotte and Svensson. We have another coach on gardening leave for unclear reasons and we also have an advisor to the Chairman who it seems no one wants to talk about. So the deck chairs on the Titanic have been rearranged once more, the ship's captain has replaced one of the officers with another and its full steam ahead. If I was on board I would not stray too far from a lifeboat because the disaster that is about to befall us is even more imminent than it was a week ago. I could weep I really could.
ladysaint Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 So are you saying FF that Leon has paid £2m to the club to get rid of JP.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 25 January, 2009 Author Posted 25 January, 2009 So are you saying FF that Leon has paid £2m to the club to get rid of JP. No, you are adding 2+2 and probably coming up with 5, Jan. Can't say I blame you. I know LC wanted rid of JP as part of the deal but he would have to really dislike him to pay £2m solely for his removal.

I dont care if Wotte has an unpleasant reputation since Fergie does not always appear have a pleasant reputation but gets results. On your general point I have been wondering the purpose of your original post was but if talks are taking place surely that is positive. Is it 100% certain that JP was fired ? Do you think there is any connection between Leon Crouch being at SMS on Friday and the mystery investor being shown round / the friendly match against the Budapest team taking place in the stadium behind closed doors at the same time FF? There are a lot of coincidences there.

There are a lot of coincidences there. No I don't. LC has not mentioned any mystery buyer to me and I don't know anything about whether it is true or not. I doubt it myself.
hypochondriac Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 So why do you believe Leon was there Duncan? Do you believe now that Wotte is permanent?
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 25 January, 2009 Author Posted 25 January, 2009 So why do you believe Leon was there Duncan? Do you believe now that Wotte is permanent? To see if there was a way out of our current predicament. Unfortunately no agreement or concensus was forthcoming and that now means Wotte is there on a permanent basis until Lowe decides otherwise. Tbh - I feel sick and numb now. The amount of really good fans who have told me over the last few days they have had enough is frightening. And for the first time in my life time, my Dad and I could not even discuss it this morning. Appointing Wotte for me is the straw that breaks the camels back.
exit2 Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Do you believe now that Wotte is permanent? It is permanent, you cant start naming your backroom staff i.e Svensson and then have someone come in a few months later and remove him.
hypochondriac Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 It is permanent, you cant start naming your backroom staff i.e Svensson and then have someone come in a few months later and remove him. It's a war then. Sigh.
lenwilkins Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 It is permanent, you cant start naming your backroom staff i.e Svensson and then have someone come in a few months later and remove him. Like Dodd and Gorman you mean?
hypochondriac Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Like Dodd and Gorman you mean? They were supposed to be permanent. Who knows what Lowe will do if we lose six on the trot.
Block 5 Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 They were supposed to be permanent. Who knows what Lowe will do if we lose six on the trot. He will burn in hell. FACT.
exit2 Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Like Dodd and Gorman you mean? Like above that was meant to be long term, but results changed it. They appointed from within to save money. At present Woote is already employed and on a contract, Gorres is, and so is Svensson. So at present the club think / are treating this as a permanent thing

At present Woote is already employed and on a contract, Gorres is, and so is Svensson. So at present the club think / are treating this as a permanent thing I think in reality they are probably caretakers but have been given a chance to prove themselves. If Wotte proves to be a success the club have saved some cash. I expect real candidates will be lined up/interviewed and the cull made after a few games and the inevitable bad results. If the club didn't have anyone lined up there would have to be a caretaker anyway.
Bailey Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 LC has not said anything to me but I have just learned there IS some dialogue with a potential European investor and it had something to do with Friday's match. Does that mean we're in need of takeover thread number 756483? In all seriousness, appreciate the info FF!

I wouldn't raise my hopes too much but I have to admit I feel so low at present any news of a potential investor is something to cling to.
Bailey Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 I wouldn't raise my hopes too much but I have to admit I feel so low at present any news of a potential investor is something to cling to. Agreed. Hope is the only things us fans have at the minute.

In the true spirit of the "we don't get info" thread, a mate of mine in the Chapel End says he saw somebody with earlobes in the Directors Box at the Doncaster game who looked European that we haven't investigated recently HTH
Thedelldays Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 I saw someone with a "hooked" nose around saint marys street the other day too....asking where the little boysh are.. interesting..

paris Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Are you joining the march on Saturday ? To see if there was a way out of our current predicament. I know LC wanted rid of JP as part of the deal but he would have to really dislike him to pay £2m solely for his removal. That was my thinking. If I was Crouch - indeed I think we suggested something similar on a thread last week - then I would offer my £2m under the minimum proviso that: JP was sacked. Lowe stood down from day to day running of the club. A new British Manager was found who was up for the fight.
SaintRobbie Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 I wouldn't raise my hopes too much but I have to admit I feel so low at present any news of a potential investor is something to cling to. I've felt like this since last June! You're having it easy Duncan!

At present Woote is already employed and on a contract, Gorres is, and so is Svensson. So at present the club think / are treating this as a permanent thing I think they have to to be honest. We have a vital game on Tuesday and if they said we were looking for a new manager and the current structure was all about to be sacked then the players would be even less motivated. Its a bit Catch 22 for Lowe to be honest. BUT... if this IS the solution. I shall be looking for Lowe's head on a plate. (I am anyway... but just slightly sooner!)
