Lemina back? Oh I hope not, if someone will pay 5p let him go. We know he's talented and shows it sometimes but the Premier League needs consistency and 100% commitment, he ain't got it, a shame but that's the way he is.

Agreed. He has all sorts of ability and its easy to see why he signed him. Indeed, if he'd applied himself we'd all be sat here wandering when a big club would be snapping him up. It's a real shame how this one went.

If you are interested, he was discussed a few pages back. Not sure anyone had any real insight, but there is some opinion based on the various youtube videos available.

Some websites suggested Leeds pulled out as they felt the fee was too high.

That’s interesting to be fair. I thought he looked like a good deal for the money quoted, especially for a young full back, but perhaps Leeds saw a flaw?

That didn't answer the question.

It does affect it. If your side is under more pressure, with less of the ball then you’re going to be provided with more opportunities to intercept and make tackles. Of the prominent midfielders on the list not many play for big teams.

Granted, it doesn’t mean you will. Bednarak being a prime example of that as he has high interceptions but shit tackles.

Leeds now linked with Javi Galan for just €3.5m. Nicolas Tagliafico also suggested as an option, but have to say that Leeds appear to be linked with hundreds of players so difficult to know whats what. I did see a report dated back in March saying both Leeds and Saints were watching Romain Perraud. Not sure f that strengthens the rumour or not.

I have never seen anything that substantiated Markus' alleged 3bn net worth. Seemed based on a misunderstanding of his share of the Liebherr family business. No doubt he was wealthy and had tens of millions liquid funds, but 3bn has always seemed pie in the sky stuff. Mali always seemed like a rich-man's hobby, rather than a valuable asset - if it was a solid, profit-generating business, it wouldn't have been wound up so abruptly after Markus passed

Likewise, there is not a single verifiable public source of Gao's wealth, as far as I am aware.

Yup - it just so happened that 3bn was also the net worth of the other Liebherr siblings who *hadn't* handed back their shares and were still involved in the company. Based on how hard she fought to be allowed to sell to Gao, I'm pretty sure that Saints was the most valuable asset KL inherited. As you say, multi-billion dollar companies don't get wound up just because the owner dies.

As for Gao, no idea where that 3bn figure has come from. At the time he first appeared on the scene people were suggesting he was worth 1bn, which would've been about 20% of the market cap of Lander, which isn't unreasonable for the founder of a listed company. Since then the company value has absolutely cratered, so I've no idea why anyone would imagine his wealth to have tripled.

Do you think Firpo is the other left back on our list of two that Dan Sheldon was alluding to?

Could be Tavares. Hope not though, I have since heard exclusively bad things about him.

Tsimikas at Liverpool is an interesting one for me. Always going to be an understudy to Robertson, but too good to rarely play. I suspect its him or Neco Williams we wanted when we ended up with Minamino. No rumours, but we appear to have a good relationship with Liverpool and him on loan wouldn't surprise me.

Sheldon's Athletic article, which was summarised said we wanted to sign one permanently and the other was likely to be a loan, so wouldn't be surprised if it's Brandon Williams for the third window. Stagnating at United after four league appearances last season.

Yes the one permanently, there's two targets he said at left back.

The 19-year-old is highly-rated at Stamford Bridge but finds himself behind N'Golo Kante, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic in the Blues' midfield pecking order at present.

And according to the Sun, Gilmour is tempted by the possibility of a loan move in order to play regular first-team football next season.

It is believed that he is hoping he will attract interest following a good tournament with Scotland at the forthcoming European Championship, which begin on Friday night.

The Scotland international was close to leaving Chelsea on loan in the January window but was stopped from doing so by manager Thomas Tuchel - who was appointed at the end of that month.

However, Gilmour only featured five times in all competitions under the German in the latter part of the campaign as he chose the experience of Kante, Jorginho and Kovacic ahead of him in central midfield.

As a result, Gilmour is now considering the route taken by the likes of team-mate Mason Mount before by going out on loan before returning to Stamford Bridge and forcing his way into their starting XI.

Last month, Newcastle were linked with a loan move for Gilmour with the Magpies hoping to entice Chelsea by pointing to the successful loan spell that Arsenal's Joe Willock has just had at St James' Park this season and the effect they could have on his development.

Not interested tbh. We have our own young CMs to develop in Diallo and Smallbone as well as a very good pair of first choice players in JWP and Romeu. If it had an option to buy then maybe but there is basically no chance of that happening.

I like Gilmour, he is a very very good young talent but to be completely honest DM/CM isn't a position we need to be worried about moving forward, we have JWP, Romeu, Diallo, Armstrong, Smallbone, Jankewitz that could all do a good enough job there

I'd rather we went to Chelsea and asked about the likes of CHO or Abraham

He was consistent and committed last season...

I like lemina, there is a good player in there, but his application is off and considering he was effectively dumped out of the club last year I don't see us repairing any relationships there any time soon

These sorts of graphical stats based images can often be quite hard to digest properly as well as often it highlights tactical insufficiencies as much as how well the player has performed.

The fact that I can see more Fulham players in that graph as a percentage per team more than any other leads me to believe it was more of a case of Fulhams inability to control possession and generally be on the back foot that makes the above look more positive than it actually is

What exactly did Lemina do in possession ? Seasonal stats say not a lot, 1g, 0a and 1 big chance created over 28 games

I'd like to see us signing a few on loan where we have the option of signing next summer...these are all on the periphery of the "big 6" squads...not saying they're all signable or we'd want them, but sure some of them could do a job for us and would fit.

  • Abraham
  • Hudson Odoi
  • Gilmour
  • Loftus Cheek
  • Barkley
  • Batshuiyi
  • Guehi
  • Romero
  • Tuanzebe
  • Phil Jones
  • Brandon Williams
  • Dan James
  • Van De Beek
  • Amad Diallo
  • Reiss Nelson
  • Nketiah
  • Martinelli
  • Neco Williams
  • Tsimikas
  • Rhys Williams
  • Curtis Jones
  • Shaqiri
  • Origi
  • Nmecha
  • Ake
  • Liam Delap
  • Tanganga
  • Winks
  • Dier
  • Alli

Couple of unfeasible ones (Alli, CHO, Abraham, Van De Beek, Curtis Jones) and a couple I personally wouldn't want (Winks, Dier, N. Williams, R. Williams, Dan James) but I think its a good list, would love to see Romero, Guehi, Nketiah, Ake, Williams, Tuanzebe come in and all seem vaguely doable (except Ake maybe).

£5m with possibility of rising to £10m with clauses, good deal really.

One down, about six others to go.

Yep agree, anything other than another loan was a positive.

A really average keeper and some how worse than the 2 others we have. knows Norwich, so hopefully it’ll work out well for the lad but good riddance.

might have been Yasser Larouci. Leeds enquired about him in January, as did a couple of others.

feels incredibly similar to our Elyounoussi announcement.

Basically, don't ask about a loan as we want to sell, but to ensure we get the best price, we will spout bollocks about giving them a chance to fight for a shirt. The fact is, we've made our mind up and don't want him, but while we find someone to fill Wijnaldum's shoes, we'll give him some pre-season games to show we are not desperate to shift him or sign another, so as not to get shortchanged/fleeced.

I wonder what those `unrealistic' clauses are. Norwich to get into Europe or win the league maybe?

We should be all over this if Vestergaard goes. Absolute bargain.

Not sure about that. Looked like a rabbit in headlights at times in the heart of that Fulham defence. If we went from Vestergaard to him we may aswell start packing for Championship football
