Exactly it’s a bit worrying some of the players we are being linked with.. we don’t need oxo especially on loan,,

the young Chelsea striker if it’s only a loan is also a bit bizzare.. we need to replace ings ffs and not with a frikkin loan..

I’d still like us to go for Darwin Nunez

Why? If it's our only signing then yes, but it's being reported that we will sign him and another one. I'd rather have a talented young striker on loan coming off the bench than Shane Long.

We’re crying out for some creativity in the 10. Redmond, Djenepo and arguably Theo, are nowhere near good enough to keep us up again. Given we’ve lost Ings goals, we need to replace them and we won’t from a striker, so we’ll need others to chip in.

It’s been pretty well documented that we’re in for 2 strikers and funds are limited. The young lad from Chelsea is likely to be a replacement for Long / Obafemi.

So potentially Armstrong and a highly rated Chelsea youngster as our new striking options.

Do we expect there to be less negativity on here now?

Of course not!! If we signed Messi and Ronaldo there'd still be moaners🤣🤣

WHY HAVEN'T WE SIGNED A DEFENDER WHO CAN PLAY CENTRAL MIDFIELD YET!

Interesting……….He may be costing a bit but I think he’ll be worth it.

Southampton may think that issuing an ultimatum with their latest offer will be enough to persuade Rovers into selling Armstrong.

However, if it doesn’t meet Venky’s valuation, they will have completely wasted their time.

Flexing their muscles might work with other clubs, but Rovers’ owners don’t play by the same rules as everyone else.

As they highlighted by their belligerence over Jordan Rhodes’ exit from the club, if they set a valuation it has to be met.

It is also worth factoring in that Venky’s once thought that Ronaldinho and David Beckham were viable targets for Rovers – reality is not really their thing.

As Mowbray says – Armstrong’s suitors need to pay the price. If they are not prepared to do that, move along.

In fairness, both are pretty unproven at this level and, if we’re being honest, unlikely to replace ings goals.

I am a bit more relaxed now that I’ve heard were potentially in for the Ox (hopefully this signals that we want to improve in the 10, which is very much needed).

Given we’ve continued to chase, it would suggest that he doesn’t prefer palace (or at least we think we have a chance), as reported.

You'd think we would have been encouraged to make another bid, knowing that there is a good chance he will want to come to us. If we can get this done and the Chelsea kid then i think that's a reasonable amount of business to replace Ings. 10 goals a piece from Armstrong and Adams should be doable and if the kid can chip in with 4-5 that's a decent return.

Well if he’s not ours and there is no option to buy it’s a bit pointless having him over tella and obafemi, might as well develop them instead?

id just like us to get the ings replacement sorted first tbh., we got money from the sale.. season starts Saturday why dither about and end up starting Redmond up front or something as bad vs Everton when we could get our replacement sorted now?

Good news if it's the pair. Well done Saints.

Yep. Which in a way, is the concerning thing about the JWP situation.

Villa wouldn’t be wasting their time if they didn’t believe they had a chance.

£15m inc addons according to others. I'd like to see Obafemi go out on loan for the season and get some games.

It'll be interesting to see who's right. Tbh I'd be disappointed to see him leave as I think he has something about him but needs game time.

Sounds like the sorting done now doesn’t it!

I wouldn’t rule out  Redmond and Adams starting Saturday though

Agents

Villa did this earlier in the Window with Smith-Rowe at Arsenal - last time I looked ESR was still an arsenal player and they made 3 bids I believe

We will progress when Redmond and McCarthy are nowhere near our first team

ICM Stellar handle Grealish, JWP and Adam Armstrong. They'll know the situation quite well.

Tend to agree on this. If, the worst does happen and we go down, I think he’d be a real asset for us in the championship.

Did Redmond play on saturday???

Didn’t say he did…..Wednesday was bad enough!

I saw him Vest, Ely, JWP go through the door in Northam at 2:55.

Redmond went to go in stopped turned back went left then right doubled back the door hit him and he moaned at JWP

I respect your opinion, but you are wrong with Redmond, Im surprised that you dont see what he does. If he did everything he would not be with us, but he does a lot of stuff that people do not see. Anyway he is classic Marmite

DT has no idea so I dont take his judgement lol.

I know not everyone is a stats guy and they don't tell the whole story but statistically in the Prem, Obafemi is practically identical to Nketiah and about the same age. Worth considering when they'd want £15-20m for him and a lot of people on here would be willing to let Obafemi go for a pittance. I'd certainly keep him but agree that game time is what he really needs to kick on whether that be with us or on loan.

We paid 15m allegedly including add ons. No where near the 25m they wanted. We've done well with that 👏

I thought he only had a year left on his contract, and that was why there was so much talk of him moving on

Armstrong is a very successful name in terms of Saints players. David was awesome.  Stuart is great. Hope Adam is the same. Got good feeling about this signing.

Well we can agree on something DT lol

At least parents know which name to get on kids shirts they get 2 for 1 .

Going back to Redmond he started well against Levante he seemed to me like being an elder statesman taking responsibility but then once he missed that chance his head went and back to type.

He took some great corners though.

If he finds some form and confidence then he can play a role but TBH he has been so awful some games think he needs fresh start away from here.

Doesnt it say things when you never hear approaches for him from other clubs around us or above?

Just waiting for MLG to point out that they will actually have two different shirt numbers.
