I received an email from my gym this week - Puregym - stating that they will be creating a new 'state of the art Women's workout space'.  Unfortunately they forgot to give any definition of what a 'woman' is, so this may become the emptiest space ever seen in a gym.

To a 77 year old like me the world has gone bloody mad. I have to ask my children and grandchildren what are the right words these days before I say something that offends. Too many people are so touchy over the slightest thing. My 16 year old grandson told me he had met a girl he liked. He said she was the first one who wasn't either gay or non-binary. I had to ask my daughter what non-binary meant. Wish I hadn't asked.

I was at a motorway services not too long ago and they had an ‘inclusive restroom’ which included the transgender ⚧️ , wheelchair and baby change symbols and was also written underneath in braille. I had to chuckle at the idea of its creator, who thinks they’re being tolerant and inclusive, but is actually just saying that trans, disabled, blind and babies who’ve shat themselves all get grouped together under ‘miscellaneous people’ in a special toilet.

Disappointingly my gym now has the equipment that requires women to open their legs now faces the wall. I remember years ago at Cricket Ground in Northlands Road where it good make some great viewing if the right fit women were in there. All discreetly glanced at of course, I mean I’m not a perve!

Absolutely insane but certain people in society went a bit crazy over this stuff over the last decade or so. Very curious for people who lived most of their life prior to this stuff. Thankfully looks like it's all shifting back again and the history books can just look at this with bemused curiosity.

Still a lot to do but this is a big step in the right direction. Women's single sex spaces will now truly mean biological female as it always has done. Obviously I'm very pleased for society in general but also for the brave campaigners who fought against the odds to make this happen. Also for my female relatives and others I'm close to who should no longer have to endure this ridiculousness.

Many women in the UK have been forced against their will to share spaces with potentially AGP men living out their perversions in changing rooms, rape crisis centres, taken female quotas on boards and spaces meant for women in elections. There's plenty of examples of this including most recently NHS Fife which has got themselves in all sorts of trouble for pressuring a nurse to get changed in front of a bloke. The vast majority of people will now be happier that the law has been clarified and it is unambiguous that these sort of men are not allowed in these spaces reserved for women, will no longer be depriving women of opportunities on all women shortlist etc etc. That should be a cause for celebration for all women and especially the women you have close personal relationships with or who are family members. Men out of female prisons, changing rooms and all other spaces that are women only. Wonderful.

Or as JK Rowling put it ; "...cosplaying a misogynistic male fantasy of what a woman is". India Willoughby responded with "I am more of a woman than JK Rowling will ever be", which is a biological impossibility.

However, having fathered a son, India is certainly more of a man.

Transphobic lol. This must have really hit you hard given how you're resorting to such abusive language. You didn't trans your kid did you? Just be thankful for the women who will no longer have their privacy, dignity and freedom of association taken away. They are the ones who matter, not you and your little tantrum.

Amen to that. Apparently his son doesn't talk to him anymore which is entirely unsurprising.

I will always use abusive language to people like you. I don't disagree with the verdict just recognise that it's a complex matter and Trans people's rights are just as important as anyone else's. I get the issues but also know transphobia when I see it.

It's not complex at all as the high court has now made clear. Sex is binary and you can't change it, I'm glad you agree. Transphobia is a nonsense made up word. Men who want to put on a dress and call themselves women because it makes them more comfortable should be allowed to do so free from fear, discrimination or harassment. Many choose to do that which is their right. They should be afforded the same rights as everyone else in society and of course their rights are just as important as everyone else's we are lucky to live in a society that largely respects that. Shame on you for getting all emotional about this judgement and allowing yourself to start getting abusive and nonsensical.

You clearly have a problem reading, I don't disagree with the judgement and am happy if it solves any problems women have been having.

I'm also happy to call out transphobia when I see it, an it is obvious from certain people. Those that are all of a sudden really concerned about the welfare of criminals in prison when usually they are the first to say 'let them rot and throw away the key'.  

It reminds me of when those Millwall fans claimed they were booing taking the knee because someone from BLM in the US wanted to defund the police, Millwall hoolies, not racists, just all of a sudden concerned about levels of police funding.  :lol:

I've literally never said that in my life. The only thing I ever said is that I could potentially support the death penalty for cases like Southport. Overall I believe that prison should include a measure of rehabilitation and particularly female prisons that are generally very different from male ones. So I'm not the caricature you've made up in your head at all. 

Out of interest, what is transphobic in your mind?

Saying common sense prevails isn’t the same as having a phobia. Some of the most ‘liberal’ seem to delight in putting people in ‘phobic’ boxes. One could almost say bigoted

In order to call someone ‘transphobic’ you have to first be able to define being ‘transgender’. In order to be ‘transgender’ you first have to be able to define ‘gender’. Since nobody seems able to do that the whole thing is one great big word salad anyway.

Indeed. "I know transphobia when I see it" but has zero examples. Rather like when someone throws it at JK Rowling and when you ask for examples it amounts to her calling a man 'he'.

Why are adult males so excited by this? We've got clarity, which was needed in law, but it not sure why people are rejoicing about something which makes no difference whatsoever to them.
