Why is it a shame that someone you’ve never met or ever will decided to not let their convictions be overruled by a mandate? Do you believe people have a right to stand up for what they believe in without judgement from others?

Because what rainbow laces is promoting “everyone is welcome at football” is obviously a good message.

Of course everyone has a right to stand up for what they believe in, that’s why it’s right that players can choose not to wear poppys or rainbows should they wish.

Im not a fan of religion at all, Islam can be particularly backward with its attitudes but so can Christianity.

Wow, Islam is backward. Thats some statement

Bit like yourself, it’s their choice but it was a shame they didn’t do what you think they should, those members of that backward religion.

I said can be, try reading.

Christianity and other religions can be as well. It's inevitable as they are generally based on texts written centuries ago.

Yep I read it. you’re judging them for not wearing one by labelling his religion as backward and homophobic and saying it was unfortunate they chose not too. You’re not alone there are quite a few people the same, piously critical of others and what they should do. To hell with their own long held beliefs if it’s going against the current fashionable cause

I don't believe in hell, that's another invention from a fairytale written centuries ago.

Recent research has found that one in four LGBTQ+ people do not feel welcome at live sports events - that's unfortunate.

Key issue is the assumption that one is right and other is wrong. People have differing views and they should be respected.

Did Wifred Zaha not want equality for black lives when he didn’t take the knee?

Expand

Indeed, free speech - people who don't agree with equality are free to express that, but must accept that others are free to disagree, some want free speech without consequence.

And Zaha was a very different case, he didn't go out of his way to not support anything, he released a very clear statement explaining his views and his continued support for equality.

As for Morsy, I judged that twat (and the ref) long ago when he should have been sent off at Portman Road.

I'd guess that him going out of his way not to support a campaign that says football is for everyone has probably made more people judge him.

I have.

Except you dont though. You immediately judged his views as homophobic, backward and said it was unfortunate that he chose not to wear one. I suggest that your claims of respecting people rights to chose are just platitudes. You might say you do but in reality the fact is you quickly made this discussion about what you believe and that their views dont subscribe to yours. I suspect it wont be long before you're back to defending islam though when there another cause which you want to be see to support.

This is the trouble with being Woke sunshine, when you have to chose between them life becomes quite tricky.

No, as usual you are wrong. I said Islam CAN be backward (like many religions). Morsy has not even explained his views so I can't possibly judge him. I just think it's a good cause, if he chose not to wear one because he didn't like the colour clash with his kit I would still think it is unfortunate that he chose to undermine a good cause.

Re: Guehi, writing anything religious or political on your kit is against the rules - it’s as simple as that.

It’s a shame Morsy refused to wear one but it’s a free country. Some religions are homophobic, some more than others.

Muslim players are making a choice based on their religion, that’s different to writing something on their kit.

Again you're making it all about you. It doesn't fucking matter what you or me think, Morsy has his views which i'd imagine have been with him from birth. If he wants to refuse to do something because it's against his belief then he's perfectly entitled to and it's not you or anyone elses place to judge that just because you might not approve of it.

We'll that depends on your perspective. Within religion there is also different interpretations of what the religion believes. One thing i will say is that the bible and i'm pretty sure the Quran also was not meant to have been taken literally.

It was so obvious those asking thought the questions were absolutely pointless but had to ask to tick the box.

Not any more with the huge cuts coming and abolition of NHS England. EDI posts will be some of the first to go. Unfortunately these type of restructures mean posts we do actually need for frontline delivery will go as well as the senior turkeys never vote for Xmas, despite what Streeting says.

Glad I never worked for them but feel sorry for many that do.

Never got into the pronouns on emails thing (happens in some large commercial and charitable settings too) as I’m a bloke and obviously a bloke but happy to work with anyone good at their job, trans or not.

I genuinely was confused the other day when someone was talking about  a member of staff and kept referring to them as ‘they’. I had to stop them to ask who else were they talking about and was told it was just the one person I thought, but her pronouns are ‘they/them’

HR having at least a couple of meetings this week. 🙂

Where I am, the fervour of ideological capture that was sweeping a lot of large companies, has gone into the background.

A lot of companies disassociated themselves from Stonewall programmes. It took a while to realise paying a company lots of money to embed itself and any ideas it had, whether legal or not, or be labelled hateful, wasn't a good idea.

Like BLM, it turns out that we had sensible, robust policies in place all along, without having to jump on bandwagons or flagellate ourselves in public, if we weren't part of a group.

Which seems to please everyone regardless of whether they have protected characteristics or not. Not a soul was keen on having unisex toilets put into new buildings. Something more money was spent on to give some separation to.

I do still use a rainbow lace to find a lanyard in my bag. Very useful. The other is still in a bag of cat toys.

At 50% I reckon they will go. This government needs to cut waiting lists before the next GE, and they will be paying a shedload in VR/redundancy payments so a few ET cases won’t faze them unduly.

What will happen I suspect if that you’ll get people who are asked to take it on discretionally as a ‘development opportunity’ on top of operational roles at mid-senior levels. Whether having lost half of their colleagues and none of the work, allied to what I’ve no doubt are horrific processes and systems, anyone will want to do extra is another matter.

We’ve got unisex toilets in our building and it’s alright, probably the air freshening cans are a reminder to civilise things post-Donald Trump, Jimmy Choo or Eartha Kitt.

Not throughout the organisation mind, where the buildings are much older, but ours was purpose built last year.

Personally I’m more concerned about the lift hardly working in such a new building for folks with limited mobility, but disabilities seem to receiving collective punishment along with transgender, LGBT and ethnicity at the moment.

So much for the Mediterranean diet. Well, the Cronus version of it anyway.

What is demisexual?

Does it mean half sexual - maybe slip it in half way and you're done?

Expand

Bah! I looked up sapio romantic.

Hang on

"A demisexual person can only experience secondary sexual attraction – a type of attraction that occurs after development of emotional bond"

Which is sort of linked with sapio romantic, not least so I can show horn in the one I looked up.

"Sapioromantic refers to someone who is romantically attracted to intelligence and intellect, valuing deep conversations and mental connection in their relationships."

Not to be confused with sapio sexual

"sapiosexual refers to someone who is sexually attracted to intelligence, finding intelligence to be a major turn-on."

There you go. Judgemental people might suggest that if you've no physical or socially redeeming qualities, and can't attract anyone who has, you can both pretend to be far more interested in how smart you both think you are. I'm glad I'm not some anti progressive thinker like that.

All important pride flags added. The one with the brain is an alternate sapiosexual one. It's not used after the sapiosexual rally and the zombie cannibals rally got booked under the same banner.
