Was definitely a penalty but you get the sense from the refs that they are primed into thinking “clear penalty” when it’s a big team and “I can’t quite see” when it’s us. Then when it goes to VAR you end up with, “oh was probably not a penalty for big team but not a clear and obvious error” and of course “oh yes that looked like a pen but not enough to be a clear and obvious error”. 

Years from now EPL will be exposed for match-fixing and I doubt many will be surprised.

How many games week in week out do we see a big team having an off day and then getting awarded a dodgy penalty to help them back in?

When was the last time we were awarded a penalty?

And actually got to take it - I know there was the one in the Wolves cup game that was rightly ruled as being outside the box by VAR.

No idea, but we haven't had one rejected in this game and haven't conceded one that shouldn't have been given.

another good tackle from Djenepo. He doesn't mind a slide tackle does he. Coem on Saints. Chelsea can go to sleep at times.

I actually can see this to be honest. 
PL refs are on roughly what- £50k to £100k per year?

If Roman Abrahamovich (or the Glazers/FSG etc) offers £10k bonus to each of these refs over a 38 game period - that is only a £380k outlay (far cheaper than buying any player)

Okay perhaps I’m speculating or just bitter but it is some food for thought!
