Surprised and delighted with the decision but don't understand why David Luiz's red card wasn't also rescinded. Plenty of incompetence very little consistency.

Luiz had time to move out of the way, he ran after the player and brushed against him, clear pen but never a sending off. Rules are ridiculous

Dose this mean (i know) we can get the last 3 goals chalked off because we should have still had 10 on the pitch?.......lol. I think there is at some point someone saying to Dean Louis got sent off for a very similar decision earlier you'd better come to the same conclusion.  Just hope that Ralph has alternatives in mind should we get a similar event going on the pitch,he needs to have learnt from this just defend and shut shop, our goal difference took us below Leeds who didn't even play until last night, so all the early part of our gain up the ladder has eroded and not performing away due to the team feeling sorry for themselves(fuck the supporters...........)and not being professional enough to take pride in the fact that it was playing out in front of themselves deja vu all over again. Once again soft underbelly and no leadership from on the pitch.

Yep, What about if it had 0 - 0 at the time?

To be honest, I accept mistakes happen and that they can change games.

But this was a callous, cold-hearted, decision by a maniac that undoubtedly resulted in another appalling scoreline that we now have to live with forever.

If there is any justice the individual(s) responsible should be severely punished as this has caused actual mental suffering to the club and its supporters.

The question is, how much longer will Dean get away with these sort of decisions before he is disciplined?

That's one good thing about VAR, ref's can't make up the same old excuses about not seeing what happened, there is no hiding place for incompetent twats like Dean and Mason anymore.

On Saturday everybody but Dean and Mason thought it was a penalty. The linesman who unless he had five minutes and loads of cameras would not have been able to see that Ings's equaliser was arguably offside but immediately waved his flag. Against MU Dean gave a penalty, reviewed and disallowed. Adams goal again disallowed with not even marginal evidence of offside. Bednarek's sending off for a forwards dive overturned even though it had to be a sending off if Martial impeded. It was obvious he went down looking for the penalty and hung out his right leg to contact Bednarek.

It will be' but it shouldn't be left there. Either the officials are grossly incompetent and should be removed or alternatively there is something happening that needs investigation.

  • Lighthouse changed the title to Bednarek's red card - Official: Rescinded

It's Leicester City who are the real victims.

They had 11 v 10, United had at least 15 v 9, and their result has now been exposed as a fucking scam orchestrated by Mike Dean.

Apologies are due to Leicester who will now not get the credit or those occasional mentions that we were all enjoying so much.

And it can't be said too much - fuck Mike Dean, everyone now agrees that you're a cunt, even your fucking boss.

Shouldn’t Martial get a suspension for diving ? I thought this was the talk at the beginning of the season?

Good idea but of course they stop short of saying it wasn’t a penalty, only that it shouldn’t have been a red card.

I’m not aware it has been downgraded to a yellow though.

So it’s just left to the likes of you and I to join the dots up in reaching a conclusion.

As soon as fans are allowed back into stadium again, I hope the club withdraw their request for Dean and Mason not to referee our games so that we can express our appreciation of their services to football in person....

The Club have not made that request. It appears to be some made-up pony.

They’d love that though, being the centre of attention even if it is negative. Have you ever known a ref cave into the abuse from fans.

I’d gain even more satisfaction if one day a fan somewhere ran on the pitch and planted one right on Dean. Yeah it would be bad for the game, but the blokes a complete cunt so it would be hilarious.

I think that is one event which would unite the entire football community.

That alone says it all. Everything thinks he is a tool and shit at his job.

20 years!

Yep, great news, but.....this ain’t repairing our now horrific goals difference, that may have been marginally better if the pen wasn’t awarded and we’d kept our best defender on the pitch.

The club should use our wonderful marketing dept to compile a film of all the blatant wrong decisions in the last 2 games (goals, penalties, throw-ins, corners - that ‘foul’ on the Villa keeper!) and it stick up on YouTube.

Still, Mike Dean gets his name mentioned now every time they take the piss out of Southampton’s other 9-0 drubbing.

The way he gleefully brandishes red cards, I'm surprised a player hasn't lost it with him. They truly are professionals, I'd be off in a police van!

I think he'll be disappeared by the league now, in a subtle manner. Be a shame that we don't get one more outing in the stadium for a farewell, but I think its for the best.

Open admission that Mike Dean is either completely incompetent - as he himself went over to watch the replays which showed no contact - or a cheat.

They may well have admitted it was not a read card but they have not had the guts to say it was, after all, not even a foul (because Martial dived). What with cheating players and refs it is no longer a sport in the true sense of the word. Thank god no one paid to see such antics. I can see attendances dropping when the pandemic is over

Peter Walton on PL Tonight defending Mike Dean's decision. Claimed there was definitely contact (while they repeatedly showed the replay which showed no contact 😂) and he was right to send Bednarek off. Then said the appeals panel apply different criteria and thats why it was rescinded.

It was honestly embarassing to watch. Clearly immune to criticising one of his own

Some are saying Mike Dean couldn't wait to blow his whistle for that penalty and that he blew it too early. Well I've managed to get  my hands on a transcript of what really happened.....

Mike Dean blows his whistle.

Mike Dean's wife says "Michael dear, why are you blowing your whistle?"

Mike Dean replies "I'm awarding Manchester United a penalty my dear".

Mike Dean's wife says "But Michael, you're still eating your breakfast ........and it's still only Monday morning. Your game isn't until tomorrow night"

Mike Dean replies "Ohhhh but I love Manchester United". (stamping his feet in a tantrum)

Mike Dean's wife "I know you do dear.....I know you do, but you'll have to wait until tomorrow night".

Mike Dean "Oh ok, but I'm going to send some Southampton players off, particularly those with names I have trouble pronouncing......like Jankowristwatich and Bendynarek and people like that".

Mike Dean then takes out his red card from his red and white "Manchester United pyjamas" jacket pocket.....(that his wife bought him for Christmas)

"Have you seen my red card. It's great isn't it. Just like me. Great. Great. Great."

Mike Dean's wife "Yes dear, it's lovely. I've told you about getting it out at the breakfast table though. Now put it away"

Mike Dean then goes upstairs, changes into his referee kit and looks at himself in the mirror for 2 hours, whilst rehearsing the pulling of the red card from his pocket.

Meanwhile, his wife is still in the kitchen. She tut's quietly to herself and whispers....."What a wanker".

.................So there you have it. The truth has been told.........honest!
