2 Goals in 8 League Games

Lets be honest Saints have been getting progressively poorer since mid-December.  We have now scored 2 in 8 games and neither of those were from open play.

We have a ton of injuries, disgusting ref/VAR decisions last 2 games but its just not good enough.  Teams appear to have sussed us out and we have no Plan B - for all the bad luck, etc. how do you legislate for misses like Adams tonight in what was basically an open goal?

We carry little to no threat - Ings has gone off the boil since the bloody contract shenanigans and we are just struggling to score.

Its a shame that the season that started with so much promise until mid-December looks like it is going to peter out and we will finish lower half of the table.

Our players appear spineless and we have very little real Prem quality.

6 disallowed by millimeteres. A clear penalty not given. Probably cost us about 6-8 points.

Agreed - fine margins and incompetence of officials is staggering.

Having said that, there was an article in The Athletic a couple of weeks back that was telling saying we were overperforming based on some fancy new metric with shots on goal, etc.

Aside from tonight I don't think its that we have played really badly, just we seem to lack a real cutting edge.

I agree with most of what you say, except lamenting the season starting with soo much promise. Check out the form table, we are right down there. Those early points will carry us through.

There is no coincidence between us having a settled team and then Vestergaard getting injured (in Mid December) and then having a catalogue of injuries.

as to us having no plan B.

This confuses me as I hear pundits and referees say that we adjust our formation throughout the game well.

We obviously have a plan B and a plan C, possibly a plan D too. but without our best players we cant apply the plan to our advantage.
