totally understand where you are coming from and I for one was surprised that we weren't in for Lookman both times (but who knows we may have been and maybe he doesn't want to play for Ralph again? or he got paid miles more at Fulham? (he is on £55k pw i think - seems affordable for us) - maybe we wanted clauses in the contract if we went down to reduced wages whereas Fulham were happy to pay top wages to him even if they went down?)

I'd say more likely we had two players for that position in Redmond and Djenepo, and he was more signed for Armstrong's side where we didn't really have any cover (hence why Smallbone was getting played there I think despite looking more clearly like a centre-mid).  It's just Redmond has been well below even his inconsistent best and Djenepo seems to be made of cheese strings.

So I feel its a position we need to upgrade really, of course money is tight but I'd like to see sign basically a Redmond upgrade and a no.10 with a bit of craft to challenge Armstrong and help us unlock deep defences easier, like Ozil like player, so hopefully Lookman is someone we might be looking at in the summer, especially if Fulham go down.

Redmond is absolutely a player i'd be looking to sell to raise funds as he contributes very little but is somehow raved about by everyone else. It's also why I'd be all for signing Walcott on a free as that would leave us with decent cover in those attacking mid positions still (if we trust in Tella and Watts to be 4th choice between them), and allows us to spend the money elsewhere in the squad.

At first i thought yes, why not see if he works out for a permanent move for at least a 1yr contract and maybe take it from there. But in say the last 4-5 matches his distribution and general wasteful game decisions for his experience id go no not for us,and besides hes another player whos in the treatment room (as and when it reopens)more so now.

I agree with this... the best argument for resigning Theo is if we sell Redmond to fund an upgrade and Theo comes in for cheap depth.
