Scully Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 Absolutely no way that's offside. What a farce 1
maysie Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 I didn't get where they drew the lines on. Was sure the Man U players knee kept him onside to the naked eye? Not that it matters ultimately
Lighthouse Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 Just now, whelk said: Is there now consensus that VAR is for cunts? No but the way it’s being used is absurd. It’s like a speed camera catching you doing 30.01mph and getting a fine. It’s the enforcement not the technology.
Toadhall Saint Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 So not only down to 10. The ref booking anything from the south coast we have to put up with VAR ref wanting his moment of glory.
CanadaSaint Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 This sport is being destroyed by faceless, self important bastards and big money, and the more I watch it the more it nauseates me. It isn’t just about today but the sense that football exists to benefit everyone except those who pay for it - those of us who have loved it since we first started walking. Fuck them all.
trousers Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 (edited) Confirmation that the freeze-frame was taken AFTER the ball had been struck... They need to start taking into account the inaccuracy of the technology. You can't measure to millimetre accuracy when the frame rate doesn't give you the requisite level of accuracy Edited 2 February, 2021 by trousers 3 1
Victor Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 Law 11 is clear "The hands and arms of all players, including the goalkeepers, are not considered." What am I missing? 1

Not that it matters ultimately The problem is when they go into that level of detail over such a marginal decision. In my opinion VAR should be used for clear misses. Missed red, missed offside (i.e like a yard), missed pen etc. They're analysing it way too deeply and gone is the 'attackers' advantage on offside. Without VAR that's a goal, every day of the week and no one would bat an eyelid. 1
bpsaint Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 Where the hell have they decided the sleeve line is? Surely Maguires knee is playing Che on? 1
nta786 Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 Armstrong has been best player on the pitch for us- only one capable for us to bring it up to their half
Saint_clark Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 Ralph needs to kick up a fuss about officials and VAR after this one. 1
Sunglasses Ron Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 (edited) I assume they binned "clear and obvious"? Edited 2 February, 2021 by Sunglasses Ron 1

rallyboy Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 Mike Dean has rewritten the offside rule. What the fuck is he on?

obelisk Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 VAR? Martial's shirt sleeve looked offside to me
aintforever Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 The ball is two feet wide in that freeze frame.
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 Think its the end of the shirt arm for offside now. In which case its unprofessional for Saints to allow Che out with long sleeves. 1

Croissaint Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 How was that not even looked at if che was offside ?
S-Clarke Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 It wasn't even checked! Such inconsistent use of the technology.

S-Clarke Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 I thought we were holding out quite well second half. Oh well.

Noodles34 Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 So a player is in the line of the keepers view but it’s fine, not even looked at it
trousers Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 Open goal miss by Adams. We're not going to get back into this I sense...
BotleySaint Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 Adams blazed over. Really really shocking miss. How did he not hit the target?

S-Clarke Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 He's not a great finisher at all. Although he did have a goal taken off him tonight. Generally, he's decent enough at holding it up, but I don't see a true goal scorer there.

Sheaf Saint Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 OK so what would be the consequences of us just walking off the pitch now?
Lee On Solent Saint Posted 2 February, 2021 Posted 2 February, 2021 It's next season I really worry about
