Your starting 11 for the rest of the season if all players are fit and in top form in recent matches.

With us more or less half way through the season and the emergence of Diallo in recent weeks, I thought it would be interesting to see who people would have in their starting 11 if all players were fit and in form in recent matches.

I would go with

----------------McCarthy-----------------

KWP------Bednerek-----Vestergaard----Bertrand

--------------Diallo------Romeu-------------

JWP------------------------------Redmond

--------------Ings----Adams-----------------

100% this,  Diallo has done brilliantly and will take Romeu's place... but not yet, Romeu's passing in real tight areas is exceptional , his strength and aggressiveness is something we really need

Our best XI is reasonably obvious bar a couple of positions.  I'd like to see a plan B of a 4-3-3 when the 4-2-2-2 isn't working:

                    McCarthy

KWP     Bednarek  Vest   Bertrand

                JWP Diallo Romeu

        Armstrong Ings Walcott

Not going to happen.

Another poster suggested this so I cannot take the credit. Rotate Romario(!) and Diallo depending on the opposition. The question is whether we want Oriol to be playing against the better teams for his physicality to break up play and recover the ball or do we need Diallo to be in the team for his mobility? You can pick either to play against Burnley or Newcastle when faced with teams who just want to counter. Since Diallo is only 21 he can step in when either JWP or Romeu are not fully fit or suspended. He will get game time with the run of games we have coming up.

For me;

McCarthy;

KWP, Bednerak, Vestergaard, Bertrand;

JWP, Diallo;

Walcott, Armstrong;

Adams, Ings.

Subs; Forster, Stephens, Vokins, Valery, Romeu, Jankewitz, Redmond, Djenepo, Tella.

Diallo is too good a player now to be saved up for next year.  Ralph has to find a way of including him each game.

That inclusion could be out wide, instead of Theo / Redmond. I didn't realise how nippy he was until i saw him in a foot race on Saturday.  I don't know what his delivery would be like to the forwards but it wouldn't be too much of an ask to improve on the aforementioned.

Interesting choice for the bench. Given the OP's premise that everyone is fit, I guess Nlundulu, Salisu, Smallbone & Obefami could also be in contention, without even considering Long!

We do have alot of depth when every single player is fit! I am not ruling out Salisu, but he is a slight unknown atm.

Tella is for me a better striker option, he has a better turn of pace and first touch.

Obafemi, just doesn't impress me and I'd happilly sell him the, and Smallbone is slightly lightweight.. Although he looked very bright the other day until.his injury.

I like 4-2-2-2 but if we need a plan B then this 4-2-3-1 is what I would suggest.

I like Armstrong as a man, but Valery delivery, ability to beat a player and cover for KWP overlapping means I would like to see him play on the right. Diallo clearly has some skills but isn't as tough as Romeo so I'd like to see him play as a 10. The weak area is on  the left  Bertrand is no longer good enough going forward (highlighted by much of our good play coming from the right via KWP) and we are struggling for a conistent left side number 10 (which further hinders Bertrand ability to get forward safely). Walcott is not consistent either, but he is best option ina  world where Redmond d plays 1 good game in 5.

--------------Romeo------JWP-------------

Valery--------------Diallo--------------Walcott

If we are sticking with a 4-2-2-2

--------------McCarthy--------------

KWP-Bednerek-Vestergaard-Bertrand

--------Romeu-------JWP-------------

------Armstrong-------Redmond------

-----------Ings------Adams------------

If we want to shake things up and get our best players on the pitch (Adams has disappointed in the 2nd quarter of the season)

--------------McCarthy--------------

KWP-Bednerek-Vestergaard-Bertrand

-----Diallo-----Romeu-------JWP----

----Armstrong---Ings---Redmond---
