Ings doesn’t even look particularly interested tonight.
Lots of shrugging of shoulders and not much more.
he’s lost that spring in his step and that appetite it seems.
hope he proves me wrong but the body language says more about a player who’s not ‘ in the game’

We're forgetting he's not really got back to form yet after his injury, and he's not received the passes he needs to be able to finish. He just needs the one pass in the right place. Unfortunately, it's probably not going to come from Walcott

Arsenal came at us the first 15 and we had no answer.

Apart from the next 15 minutes whereby we had the better of the play...?

Theo has been an excellent signing you fuckwits

People are just expecting/demanding him to be a world beater. But he's not.

He's good at what he does and he's been a good outlet for us. He's never been a clinical finisher, a good decision maker or blessed with the most amazing technique - so if fans want that, then they need to watch Messi.

We are without 3 of our first choice defenders, missing our starting CM*, don’t have a fully fit Redmond and also without Djenepo/Tella.

Any team will suffer with an injury list like that and our players are knackered from Saturday unlike Arsenal who have made 5 changes and started with a £45m mid + £54m striker etc etc

So not too many complaints given we are somewhat in it- but it does feel like we are getting sliced open.

*not that Diallo has been terrible- he’s been our 2nd best player aft Stu tonight I’d say

Spot on

Am I sensing that we are approaching the tipping point whereby Ings becomes a full-on scapegoat hate figure?

Even Ralph said he needs to get on and score 10-15 more goals so I think fans can share that desire.

Uncomfortable game to watch. The way Arsenal are playing it could be 4 or 5-1 if it starts to click.

I don't count against us scoring again but we can't handle their through balls today.

we are passing it quite well, but are not really creating. Arsenal look far more dangerous and the chances are much more clear cut. Still in it though. Need to ride out luck a bit.

Watching Valery is depressing. Defensively so inept

Yep he looks like a headless chicken at this level - his best position is definitely wing back in a back 5 imo.
Redmond on though come on

Couldn’t he have taken Valery off and put Diallo there instead of left back?

Thought the same but in fairness to Valery he's getting involved in attacking play more than Vokins and we do need a goal.

He could have but Valery has had a decent second half, Vokins had been poor. Correct decision for me.

I'd like to see something more pacey & incisive from Saints in attack. Build up is a bit ponderous and the ball into the box is just hopeful. Arsenal more likely.
