Good indicators, and he is doing well so far. But the stats need to stand up against the strength and speed of the PL teams. I like what has been on display so far though.

And we only went for him after missing out on Ibrahim Sangaré. Lucky break: younger, higher ceiling, fits the team like a glove.

Ibrahim Sangaré was just a decoy, we were after Diallo all along, football geniuses that we are (or the Black Box).

A little ditty i've come up with for our new favourite?

He came from Brest in France

He's better than Kante

The boy can play

Boy can he play

Ibra Diallo....

Dia-dia-diallo, diallo diallo

Dia-dia-diallo, dia-diallo

I don't like the Dia bit, the last time we had a Dia, it went tits up.

Interesting snippet from Ralph's pre-match press conference today. Whilst talking about Diallo he said: "I don't have a problem when Oriel comes back now because for such a player you always find a place in the team and when you have such a strong player we have a few similar positions to the 6 so I can imagine him as a 10 or a full back if it's necessary"

So, looks like Ralph is contemplating playing JWP, Romeu and Diallo in the same line-up when all 3 are fit.

Quicker, better vision, turn of pace, faster footballing brain....not so ponderous in possession.
He must start ahead of Romeu.
Nothing against Oriol....but he’s not as good in most departments.

Last night, Romeu had an excellent game. Diallo didn't have his best game and was poor with his passing.

I think we're sometimes too quick to write players off and last night showed that it is too early to trample on Oriol's grave .... Diallo is the future, but Romeu won't give up his place lying down.

I still think that they have the potential to play together as their strengths are complementary, although judging by the injuries it may be sometime before we see that again.

Romeu is better, no doubt, last night he was sensational. Winning the ball, beating players, driving us forward, he completely dominated the Aston Villa midfield from start to finish (when he got subbed). Diallo looks really exciting too.
