Loving these retro jackets, they’ve made a pretty strong start to the partnership so far I’d say, look forward to seeing the new kits.
skintsaint Posted 12 April, 2021 Posted 12 April, 2021 Yeah the trackie tops look decent value compared to the shirts.

Think you have the wrong yellow ... the one they sell is this one: https://www.footballshirtculture.com/Vintage-Football-Shirts/hummel-1989-91-southampton-match-issue-third-shirt.html

Also used away to Arsenal twice and Spurs. I think it might just have been the four uses. It was never available as a replica 1

I picked up a red sash on white when they first got reduced, but no matter how many times it goes through the wash the LD Sports logo won’t shift 😪

Doesn't fall off by itself it requires some encouragement.
Green Posted 12 April, 2021 Posted 12 April, 2021 This looks like a faithful remake apart from the font on the sponsor. Hopefully it looks different in real life. https://www.southamptonfc.com/store/hummel/saints-1989-91-away-shirt-white-retro/c-1/c-426/p-4751

sibster Posted 15 April, 2021 Posted 15 April, 2021 Well my "Denmark" shirt arrived yesterday and I'm really happy with the quality and it takes me back to some happy times of being a saints fan. Hopefully it will become a new lucky shirt starting this weekend......

Well attached or likely to start coming off after a couple of washes?

I tend to wash my shirts by hand and allow them to drip dry which helps keep them in a decent condition. 13 minutes ago, woodsaint1 said: Large fitting/small fitting? I got an XL and it fits pretty well, not too tight or baggy etc. It's quite long too which is nice as I'm not a fan of revealing my belly to the world when I stretch upwards! 2

Sheaf Saint Posted 18 April, 2021 Posted 18 April, 2021 Got my mug today, courtesy of my wife by way of an early birthday present. I'm very pleased to discover it's a decent sized, good quality sturdy mug, and not the bog standard cheapy generic type with a dodgy print on it I was expecting. 2
Pedantic Pete Posted 20 April, 2021 Posted 20 April, 2021 Well they either didn't make many or they sold fast..Only small or 2XL left for the 87-89 home shirt....

sibster Posted 3 May, 2021 Posted 3 May, 2021 Well, several weeks (And several washes) later my '87 home shirt is still absolutely and the sponsor etc show no signs of falling off. My only gripe is that it was proving to be anything but a lucky shirt until the Leicester game, hopefully that will signify a change of fortunes.....

There's only a couple of the original shirts still in existence. The majority were donated to a Sunday league team when Saints had finished with them. They stuck their own club badge and sponsorship over the Saints and Draper badges.

And it was also worn at Sheffield Wednesday 1

Mozz Posted 6 May, 2021 Posted 6 May, 2021 The collar and sleeves are straight from the current Under Armour template (as featured on all three of our current shirts), so unless there's some bizarre situation where UA already did the kit and Hummel are just going to stick some logos on it it's a fake.

Also Hummel's arrows/chevrons/whatever they call them are on top of the shoulder not forward facing, so from that view seen in the photo exactly half should be visible. And they only put them on shoulder nowadays, not down the sleeve as well. Edited 6 May, 2021 by Wurzel Clarity
edprice1984 Posted 6 May, 2021 Posted 6 May, 2021 Look closely at the picture on twitter and its clearly been photoshopped. However if it is similar to this I would be happy. Looks like the 1989 kit.
pimpin4rizeal Posted 26 May, 2021 Posted 26 May, 2021 Anyone that purchased the retro shirts are they the same/similar material to the real shirts?? last time I purchased a retro rank xerox type shirt the shirt was more T-shirt material then the shiny polyester of the 80s so just wanted to check ??
doggface Posted 26 May, 2021 Posted 26 May, 2021 Yes they are nylon replicas of originals, not cotton. Material is nice but the cut is quite square. I had the "denmark" one, sent it back as I didn't like the cut or the oversized v neck collar which was much thicker than the original. Then again I am very fussy
Verbal Posted 26 May, 2021 Posted 26 May, 2021 So did anyone on this thread really miss not following their dream in the rag trade?
davefizzy14 Posted 27 May, 2021 Posted 27 May, 2021 The new home kit looks quality will definitely be getting one. 1
Charlie Wayman Posted 29 May, 2021 Posted 29 May, 2021 So all teams in red & white stripes go down but wait.... Brentford have been promoted so there you go a red & white candidate for the Big Drop. Phew! Saints saved again! 1
