Expand Margate is pretty popular now although Broadstairs just up the coast is the place where anyone sensible lives. There's a Turner gallery in Margate, a big art community, quite a decent music scene. Probably more going on there than there is in Southampton although we're not exactly the type of culture benchmark that anyone is comparing themselves against.

Definitely not. They did once have a massive sheep made out of flowers plonked in the town centre and a takeaway called Abrakebabra both of which made me laugh every time I saw them.

The Cat Posted 16 January, 2021 Posted 16 January, 2021 Tovil was an absolute hole when I lived round that way. I worked part time in the Tesco there when someone shat on the floor and it got dragged around the shop under a wheel of a trolly. 2

whelk Posted 17 January, 2021 Posted 17 January, 2021 Tbf shitting on a supermarket floor is mental illness more than lack of class. Personally I’d have ditched the trolley or at least tried to write something clever on the floor

SW5 SAINT Posted 17 January, 2021 Posted 17 January, 2021 Don’t be so ridiculous. A coup-sudden, violent, and illegal seizure of power from a government. Are you seriously trying to claim they were trying to seize power? Stop exaggerating, I’ve seen worse in Maidstone on a Sat night. He does sound more and more like Rupert Lowe every time he posts. I suppose it goes with the politics.......
Mystic Force Posted 18 January, 2021 Posted 18 January, 2021 I think the men of Kent were famous for rebelling and marching on London during medieval times. Including probably one of the best known, Wat Tyler, although he started in Canterbury not Maidstone.
