Tell me the most important event in our history that created enormous excitement at the time and will never be forgotten.

The formation of the club in 1885 ticks all three boxes! 😉👼

Oh well. I'm assuming Ralph won't be too displeased with having more time on the training ground and additional recovery time ahead of our next PL game.

I guess that if the match is postponed  then it will be played mid-week next week or on the weekend of the 4th Round in 2 weeks time? Depending upon when the necessary negative tests come back.

I think there will be many postponements this weekend.

I see Derby are set to play an academy team rather than postpone their Cup game. Assume Shrewsbury potentially have the same option?

Yeah. Derby sending a youth squad to play their match as all of 1st team isolating.

If we can’t beat Shrewsbury whilst testing out a few youngsters then we aren’t going to win the cup.

These youngsters are going to be needed over the course of the season (as Monday showed), so giving them game time will help down the line.

The youngsters acquited themselves well enough v Liverpool so I say let them have their reward by starting v Shrewsbury. Our reserves should be as good as, if not better than league one players or they would not be in the Saints set up.

Shame. Was looking forward to that. Shame they cannot field a youth side but can't compare to Derby as they don't have a 23's.

Will it be rearranged, they might have to forfeit

Didn't this happen to Leyton Orient earlier in the season in the league Cup?

Its much harder to rearrange multiple cup games than league games. If there are multiple postponements over the 3rd and 4th round, I can't see how the competition will be complete in time for the Euros...

BBC saying more than likely will be off. Not confirmed yet tho.

Someone ought to tell whoever runs the BBC Radio Solent Sport twitter account that it's not been confirmed yet.... they posted this c.40 minutes ago....

If Derby are allowed to send youth players instead of first team then Shrewsbury should be told to do the same or forfeit, ffs. We're going to end up with an additional midweek game now.

Play a reasonably strong side and make certain of the win because we have a genuine chance in the FA Cup this season and do not want to tempt an upset. Go strongly for the FA Cup because we can beat any side under Ralph. Don't make wholesale changes and risk messing up this opportunity.

While I agree in principal to not playing a weakened side in the cup to make sure we progress, at the same time this time it’s Shrewsbury not, say Brentford. Mourinho yesterday said that getting to the League Cup final is a victory for taking the competition seriously, but we played a full team against Brentford and lost. Shrewsbury are no Brentford however, and it is a perfect time to include some squad players, even if we only rest two or three of the big boys. If those players can’t win a game against a lower League One side, they probably shouldn’t be playing for us. That said I do think Ralph will field a near full team so the point is irrelevant.

Anyway it seems moot currently as the game looks like it will be postponed, meaning we have time to get some more players back from injury and rest others.

Completely agree, we don't need more fixtures piling up just because they haven't adhered to Hands Face Space. Play against their youth team, beat them 10-0 . If they forfeit then we get a good rest and hopefully get Chorley in the next round. Good start to a cup run.

Could be the case that Shrewsbury want to 'do a Derby' and play the tie but Saints are hesitant...

No idea when this can be rescheduled.  4th round is only two weeks later (24th Jan), would think next mid-week (13th) would be too soon (BBC suggest Shrewsbury's next game on 16th Jan also in doubt) and we've got league games the two midweeks after that (20th & 26th).

I thought I read somewhere that if the tie does not go ahead due to not having enough fit players , then the side who can't field a team have to forfit the match.

This might be why its not confirmed yet.

Saturday 8pm kick off for a match against a lower league team was a moronic time anyway so feels like good news. Will be a midweek game now, and at least we get a bit more rest time.

Fans can't go to the game, so they have spread all the fixtures out and put every game on the TV. Why does it matter if it was 8pm on a Saturday or 3pm on a Saturday during a pandemic? If the game is rearranged, the 'rest time' will be reduced between other league games.

Pretty sure the Euros won’t happen

Euro's will happen, they won't postpone that again. Lots of $$$$ invested in that. It will go ahead in 'secure bubbles' and no fans.

Starting to look like a lot of football will be cancelled in the coming weeks. As young fit people, hopefully most players who get Covid will only experience minor symptoms. But it starts to bring competitions into disrepute if more and more teams are missing more and more players.

Should just give us a bye to avoid it all becoming a farce although if two teams playing each other both have an outbreak then might become a case of who declares first

Decision will have to be made soon before players travel, annoying as if we knew now Ralph can just give the players a few days off.

From the sound of it a postponement is the most unlikely scenario , Shrewsbury need to decide whether to forfeit or send a group of players who have tested negative. That still seems unreliable, like Moeen Ali testing negative before flying to Sri Lanka then testing positive on arrival!

After yesterday’s dreadful scenes in America and the COVID death toll, something that warms the heart. Well done Spurs fans, that’s what being community spirited is about and helping a club that clearly does a huge amount of good in its environment. Will be a great day for Marine regardless of the result and is what the FA Cup should be about.

I hope it goes ahead, would be good to give a games to half a dozen fringe players.  I know we should take it seriously as winning the cup would be dope, but if the second string can't beat Shrewsbury, it would be good to know sooner rather than later.

I want the game to go ahead for footballing reasons, but a bit worried about the thought of us ending in a situation of missing anyone important the week after if their outbreak hasn’t been contained as well as they hoped! But i’m probably not clued up enough to know if that’s a likely scenario or not.

If it does go ahead I hope that social distancing between the teams is enforced. Makes me smile when the teams come out separately and the subs from the same team sit spaced a part but at the end of the match the teams embrace and hug each other! All that running about must have made them immune.

a) Why do players need to spit and

b) why isn't it banned?

I cannot think of a better(if that's the right word) way to spread the virus. For some reason the camera seems to relish revolting close ups of the players spitting.

Players can later  fall onto the spit that is laying on the grass not to mention the ball being  handled when coated with traces  saliva picked up off the grass.

When did the word "good" go out of fashion....? #callmeoldfashioned

Nothing wrong with "good", but it's good to mix up your language to inject some colour in to life.
