January - difficult month

If we can stay in the top 10 by the end of Jan then hopefully we have a good chance of a top 10 finish come the end of the season.

Need to get Ings firing again and get a big of luck with injuries and suspensions (KWP most at risk).

As long as we hit the early 30's points mark by the end of the month, I think we are on course for a comfortable finish to the season. We need Ings back and firing and no more key injuries/COVID issues to key players. An early transfer window addition would be a morale booster but I can't see it.

I'm not expecting much vs Liverpool, they will want a victory after two poor results. Leicester, Leeds and Villa are a bit Jeckyll and Hyde this season, so those could go either way, but they represent our best chance of points. Arsenal are finding their groove again since we drew with them, so again I'm not expecting much there either. 5-6 points wouldn't be a bad haul. 7 or more would be fantastic.

We also have the cup game next week which, despite me wanting us to go very far in it, is still a very good chance to try some squad players. Salisu debut surely, Tella, N'Lundulu, possibly Vokins, and Diallo to get more minutes. We are struggling to score legitimate goals of late so knocking a few past Shrewsbury (no disrespect) could fill us with confidence for the rest of the January fixtures.

We could lose all five league matches in January and still have an incredibly comfortable season.

We've already got more points now than we had after 21 matches last season.

Relegation wise we've got twenty two matches to accrue maybe 9 or 10 points. We are clearly going to do that.

The last thing we need is for us to go into a little blip (say, four defeats on the spin) and everyone going into meltdown and panicking about relegation because we drop down to, say, 16th in a very squashed table. It doesn't mean we are anywhere near relegation.

Whatever happens we are not getting relegated, it's just a case of us finishing as high as we can.

Not in a million years this season, totally agree.

Disregard our form, look at the state Sheff Utd and WBA.  Throw in Burnley, Fulham (who I think both will just do it) and Brighton (who are soft as shit).  We are safe

The bookies (who generally have a firm hand on such things) are presently offering between 125-1 and 400-1 on a Saints relegation

Feeling more confident about these fixtures now. Get something from Leicester then win against 2 bottom half teams and Villa who we’ve already beaten away from home this season.

We’ll go the month unbeaten with 13-15 points, easy!

Think if we did that we would be top by the end of the month! No consistent teams this season so far. Except Sheff Utd who are consistently shite.

Very difficult to make predictions, Leicester is a tough game and they seem to have almost all their best players fit now.

Leeds who knows, that could be a storm of opposing forces that cancel each other out or a 3-3, I like to say our defensive record and their leakiness might give us the edge but honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they spanked us either.

Villa are a good side, but one I feel we can beat and Arsenal are resurgent unfortunately but who knows could be in a slump again.

I think 5-6 points from those remaining 4 of the month wouldn't be a terrible return considering the teams and their form.
