As above, no reason why we can’t beat them but the Emirates just like Goodison is a ground we can’t win at unless we play them in the league cup!

Honestly MLG or someone will need to confirm when we last beat them in the league at Emirates (or Highbury) because can’t remember for the life of me, must’ve been beyond my lifetime

All I can remember is about 35 years ago being 2-0 going into injury time, then they broke Glenn Cockerills jaw, and they salvaged a draw in those minutes added on for Cockerills injury!!😡

More then happy to be wrong 😄

Haha, unfortunately I was wrong too. Leicester of course can leapfrog us today and play at the same time as us Weds. Maybe just to avoid the inevitable MLG dressing down, if we win and the final whistle goes in our game before Leicester’s we could be top for a few seconds...

Watching Arsenal trying to play out from the back, as per Arteta’s instructions, makes me think that Ralph’s press could cause them some serious problems. I’d be inclined to go for the jugular early.

We like to target defenders so hopefully we’ll get some positive results there.

Thought exactly the same. They don’t look comfortable doing it, if we get at them it will force mistakes. We are more than capable of getting 3 points there

You are assuming that Leicester win on Wednesday as well.  If they don't and we win, we'll be top for a whole 2 hours until the Liverpool/Spurs games finishes.

Nervous for this one now, a club the size of Arsenal loosing 5 on the trot at home? Very unlikely I'd have thought, but stranger things have happened.

They won't look as bad on Wednesday, they can't. And they'll have Xhaka missing and that's actually a huge bonus for them, that will only improve them.

Really no idea what to expect.

Why waste him on that? You could put Warwick Davis on Cedric and he'd still win the header.

Choked on my tea laughing at that!

We have absolutely nothing to fear from this Arsenal side, if a crap team like Burnley can go there and get a win and clean sheet there’s no reason at all we can’t come back with a comfortable 2 or 3 nil win and cost Arteta his job.

If Cedric starts for them, at least we know we won't have to worry about any attacking threat from their RB position. Means we will be able to commit Bertrand forward more.

And any FKs we get anywhere near the box, we'll just instruct JWP to aim them at him and get JV to mark him.

What if we beat Arsenal 8-0, and the Spurs vs Liverpool game is a draw?

I might just repeat my Father’s unforgettable words as we left Wembley at around 5:30 on May 1, 1976 - “You can take me now, Lord, you can take me now”

Still a bit annoyed about our failure to win there last season. We dominated the game and missed loads of sitters to kill the game off. Cursed.

Agree, I've been to Arsenal away tons of times, was there for the win in 87 but since then we've been cursed (if not counting the league cup wins) last year we lead until 97th minute, sorry to disappoint everyone but we just don't win there. Similar to Goodison. A draw would still be a good result.

1-1.

Team obviously looks excellent at the moment. However, Armstrong still looks as though he isnt back to his form at the end of last season. Redmond and Walcott on the wings against Arsenal could be pretty tasty - regardless of his goal Redmond looked much sharper today.

With Romeu a yellow away from a ban, I’d give him the night off completely back for City

Switch up a little and start Diallo. Start Redmond over Theo and add B team 4 goal Tella to the bench.

McCarthy.

Bertrand Westergaard Bednarek KWP

JWP. Diallo

Armstrong. Redmond

Ings. Adams

subs: Forster. Stephens Salisu Tella.
Djenepo. Walcott  Nlundulu

Why compromise the best chance we’ll ever have to finally win at The Emirates and effectively give him a 2 game ban instead of 1? City will be massive favourites with or without Rom in our team, so that’s a lot riding on an outside bet.

Start with the strongest team. Keep Romeu in. we are more likely to get a result against Arsenal than we are against City so play our strongest team and try to secure 3pts.. If Romeu gets booked, so be it, then bring Diallo in for Man City (that'll test him!).  Man City will either be on fire or they won't. They've not looked like their old selves of late, but still think they can turn it on when they feel like it.  I'd also stick with Stu and Theo. Bring Redders/Djenpo on when they tire.  Having just watched Arsenal v Burnley there is certainly nothing to fear at The Emirates. Could go either way but if we play as we have been we're definitely in with a shout this time.

I'd be amazed if Armstrong didn't start against Arsenal, unless it was with rotation in mind.   He really returned to his best on Sunday with his direct running and drifting infield from the wing.
