Sheff Utd are in a false position, they have been unlucky, hope I am wrong but have a suspicion they might find their shooting boots today.

I’d start the same team as the Brighton game, leave Ings and Redmond on the bench again for if needed. Ings can start against Arsenal and City with no worries that way.

I think they are too, (in a false position).   But still, if Ings starts and we play brave Football, surely a win is likely.

I really wouldn’t, I wouldn’t have Djneppo anywhere near the starting line up.

I think he’s been good the last few games, sacrificed some attacking intent to help Bertrand nullify the three best players he’s had to mark - Saint Maximim, Traore and Lamptey. He wasn’t quite as good against Brighton but he looked to me like he couldn’t get a grip on the surface, which isn’t ideal for a player who twists and turns so much. I’d hope Ralph would release him to attack more against a side like Sheffield United with no obvious danger man.

It's foul, wet, windy, and dark out there and I'm glad I didn't win in the ballot for today. I hope the dismal northern weather doesn't favour Sheffield.  On the other hand I'm playing this afternoon so either way will get wet and cold; and muddy..

I think it’s hard for a player like him to play Ralph’s ultra disciplined style,  I do think he is a game changing sub, but a weakness in a starting 11 right now .

I’ll think of you when I put another log in the fire whilst supping my ale with the smell of the roast wafting in from the kitchen.

I wouldn't say they are in a false position at all. They don't create enough chances and when they do they don't have good enough strikers to score goals. It doesn't matter how well you play, if the opposition scores 1 goal more than you every game in the season then you go down in 20th place.

I'm just about to lay my stove with extra kindling for when I get in. How satisfying will that be!

People said the same about Brighton too

The reality is Brighton aren't a very good team, and Sheffield United are even worse than them.

People saying Sheffield are in a false position....they’ve got one  f*cking point!! What position should they be in then ...18th???? Yeah that makes a difference!

Our strongest side - Good. I’ve no idea why people think we can afford to rest our better players.

Yes agreed. No reason why these players can’t do 3 games in a week until they have a week off again.

Rotation only really understandable for me if there was a game in 2 days rather than the 3.

Strong team and good bench though.

My only question is where is Obafemi if he didn’t play in the U23s?

And Shane Long has been dropped which is huge!

Strong side that, and decent options from the bench.

Would be nice to see N'Lundulu get some minutes - guessing Obafemi & Long just aren't doing it in training now.

Hopefully we can be comfortable come the last 10 minutes and give Salisu a taste of PL football.

I'm assuming Ralph (and most managers) doesn't finalise his match day squad until the morning of the game, so one or two will miss out altogether

Bit nervy about this! Don't know why at all. We've got ourselves in a really good position in the table.

We should be able to keep it up, shouldn't we?

Come on Danny and Che!

Fuck me, that Sheffield United might as well be wearing steel boots, it's probably the slowest team I've ever seen in this league. We could bring back ole Rickie for this game straight from a pub lunch and he would still manage to run rings around them. Might as well play a high line for this game, McBurnie and Sharp are hardly Son and Kane. We've has issues in the past with teams that sit back and hit us on the counter, but I ain't worried about that here.

Huge game for the middle set of '2'. I think for a while that all of a Armstrong, Redmond, Djenepo and Walcott haven't been playing nowhere near their best. All likelihood is that Sheffield United will sit back so won't be much space for Che and Ings, so Armstrong and Walcott need to play well. Walcott to wriggle around and find a bit of space, and armstrong to hit one from distance. If we score an early goal we can probably pin them back quite easily for the rest of the game. Overall it is definitely a bit of a banana skin, but we should win this one.

Thank goodness for that. I am hoping we can get into 3rd this afternoon. The Manchester derby was a bore draw, with a point each keeping them in their rightful places, below the Saints and Chelsea couldn't win, so let's take advantage of that.

We should smash Sheffield Utd. But they are fighters and looks like they’re setting up to match us. So moving the ball at pace and not sitting back will be key...do that well and we’ll be good. Love to see us 3-0 up at 75mins and giving Dan N a good 15 minutes to show what he’s about. At the back of my mind I’m thinking Saints of old would gift them a win, especially with Sharp starting, so I’m going a conservative 1-1.
