The 10 players of Premier League season so far - as rated by BBC Sport readers

It's good to see though I kind of think the people rating might be a little harsher on the big club players like Liverpool fans on Utd or City player and vice versa.

It's probably an indication that we have no real rival set of fans to downmark our players and we have probably put in some good highlighted performances on TV as well.

Our players have definitely been playing well as you can't argue with the table and the results, but I think this more shows we are currently everyones unexpected neutral favourites.

Interestingly those 3 players are our highest rated players on whoscored as well.

Usually a very good source Whoscored, I really like their methodology for rating players.

Stuart Armstrong is the 3rd best defensive midfielder

Yeah I did wonder about that definition.

still, as far as I can work out the team of the season so far would be

Mendy

KWP Fofana Vesti Fuchs

Armstrong JWP Romeu Grealish

Ings Vardy

6 saints, 3 Leicester, 1 chelski and 1 villa.

JWP was in all 3 of the main writers from the Athletic, team of the season so far. KWP was in two of them.

Useful to know. For all the statistics awash in the game, this sort of exercise is roughly as insightful as whatever floats around in Garth Crooks' head. Given the low rating of even the best players, the demographic of people who fill out these ratings must mostly consist of either irate 'big 6' fans frothing at the mouth, or trolls who rate everyone 1 out of 10 for the hell of it.

Apart from the comments from all the supporters of the team in 2nd place bemoaning the biased media coverage, I like the comment that suggests that "All this proves is loads of people that support Southampton vote" which cannot possibly be true as there aren't loads of us (despite our catchment area) and we definitely aren't the ones voting for Redmond, or for that matter, Armstrong as a DM.

I thought I was the only one to do this.

I done the votes on there a few times this season. Mostly when I haven't bother watching the game, and I've gone on BBC to find out What Happened.

If I think we done a good result, I give everyone a 10. If I think we done a bad result, I give everyone a 1.

I don't bother scoring the other team at all. Who cares about them?

He's baaack. Reports of Bearsy's demise appear to have been greatly exaggerated.

I know!  In the words of Oscar Wilde: We are all in the gutter but he is circling the drain.
