Every result so far has been the opposite of last season, so a certain defeat here. I suppose the main question is whether the three new boys will feature.

Romeu booked - 61st minute

Armstrong must be a doubt as would be quarentined in Scotland til Friday if report are accurate.

Would imagine Walcott, Salisu and Diallo will all be bench.

Chelsea set to have a few back to fitness for this which is a shame.

Bednarek wasn't even on the bench for Poland this evening.

He was suspended I believe. Accumulation of yellow cards.

Will be a tough game but defensively they are not the best. Just hope they have an off day going forwards. Werner not scored yet in the EPL as he? Well what a better team to play to get rid of that monkey on his back.

Salisu's first appearance in the squad : January

We've had some success there in recent seasons and I still remember the 4-2 from 20ish years ago fondly.  It's almost impossible to say, both teams are fairly kamikaze in their approach so it really could go either way - but I'm feeling confident after a couple of solid performances, 3-1 Saints.

One would have thought that when Salisu is eventually declared fit he would need at least one outing in the B team to prove that fitness before he got anywhere near the first team matchday squad.

Do we worry about Salisu if not in the squad for this? How bloody unfit was he when he arrived??

Until the club stop concealing what the problem was/is then we'll remain in the dark

Chelsea have blown hot and cold so far this season. Still look shaky at the back. Seem to struggle defending set pieces. If we can get at them then who knows.

Agreed. A usual optimiistic $10 on a draw for me.

Personally I’m happy that he is getting up to speed - I think I he is fit to play but you have to remember that he has not played a huge amount of first team games anywhere.

Think Ralph may go with

mccarthy

kwp bed vest. Bertrand

         Romeu. Jwp

walcott.                     Redmond

       Ings.    Che

think romeau and vestergaard probably get rewarded for their displays of late so not expecting diallo debut. Moussa hasn’t really been great of late although good goal and Redmond is a real hasenhuttl favourite so can see redders back in.

and think Walcott may be more of a rightsided player then djenepo so possible debut for Theo assuming Armstrong isn’t ready to go this week after covid

Dropping Djenepo after scoring would be deeply unfair, so hopefully we might actually see Redmond start a game on the right wing where I believe him to be most effective.

Didn't he go off holding his hammy in the WBA game?

I think djenepo has been pretty dire the start of this season bar the goal..

very anonymous never looked like trying to take any one on and struggling to get into the games..

I do rate him but hasn’t looked very lively of late

He did look like the player we want him to be in the first half against Spurs, but other than that he's been largely ineffective. Very good goal against WBA though, he only scores special goals. So much potential.

Not seen it anywhere else, if you want to stump up £15, rather than sort through the cobwebs to find the HDMI socket, its on BT Sport Box Office.

We have a newly promoted to Select Group 1 Referee on the whistle for this one, only reffed one Premier League game previously BHA v The Blades last December - He will have Mike 'look at me' Dean in his ear on the VAR.

Is Djenepo away on international duty?

He was on the bench on Friday for Mali v Ghana. Mali have a friendly with Iran tonight (supposedly, some places say it was yesterday). Presumably he is still with the squad for that match.

Wasn't Mike dean the ref who missed the knee high lunge by Alonso on Long from a distance of 10 yards? Alonso went on to set up 2 goals and subsequently gott a 3 match ban.

Not much hope for any help from VAR in this one.

The Mike Dean list of crimes against Saints in favour of the big boys is pretty long, and yes that's one of them.

Bizarrely on one trip down the Saints we listened to the Peter Crouch Podcast when Dean was their guest, I have to say he was good value on it, well worth digging it out for a listen.

Moussa is infuriating, you've got to wonder if he's ever going to be able to settle into the side here. I'm starting to wonder. Loan for next year?

Can you get BT box office if you don't already have a BT sport subscription?

Assume the money raised goes into premier league pot rather than distributed to the two clubs playing in the game?

Hopefully we can continue our decent away form but realistically 3-1 defeat here, Chelsea have a strong squad now but might have one eye on the champions league game on Tuesday night.

More to the point, if he was injured vs WBA as Hasenhuttl said, why was he allowed to go on Intl duty? I don't think he actually played for Mali either - so essentially missed two week rehab time.

He is a good player and definitely worth persevering with, just needs to find some consistent availability - as he usually makes an impact when he plays.

We are all anxious to see the new guys playing, but WHO would you drop in order to put them in?

... two wins, two clean sheets..and Vestergaard finally showing up ..  maybe no changes are due yet.

" If it ain't broke - don't fix it" ..... and never change a winning side ....

Being without Armstrong is a blow,  but Theo will start (at least) and maybe prove those doubters wrong.

Chelsea may get a lot of the play, but I take it for another Saints win at " the Bridge."

Imagine Redmond and Walcott will play on the wings. We don't have any other obvious choices with Armstrong and Djenpo out.

Its that or we have smallbone starting in the AMR spot? Or He plays central and JWP plays AMR? Or Ralph really pushes the boat out and puts Valery as AMR?

Salisu still 'weeks away' apparently.

WTF is wrong with him? Had he never seen a football before he came here or something? What does he have to get used to that he didn't get in Spain?

We signed him back at the end of July (we delayed the announcement for 3 weeks for some reason) and he still hasn't played a min of first team or b team football. No media unveiling, no pictures of his first day etc - very much in the Trousers camp of this entire WTF situation.
