That is, of course, correct, but there's no certainty that Spors will be the knight in shining armour that we all hope he is. After all, he's been employed by the very people that we agree are crap recruiters... Go figure... Still, if you've got faith in Spors being able to deliver then that's a reasonable stance to take. To be fair to them, their off-field appointments have largely been pretty good. Goldie is doing a great job with the Academy, Calum McFarlane excellent with U18s and now 21s since another good appointment in Rusk has become involved with the first team. Shields was seens as being good enough for Chelsea who could pretty much get anyone they wanted, ditto Wilcox who setup a promotion in his only season here. Parsons harder to judge but no question of some improvements off the pitch. As you say, no guarentee Spors is successful but initial signs are promising and recruitment has been our no1 failure the last 2 PL seasons so lots to learn from. 1
Nolan Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I think people again are missing the changes that have occurred. The hierarchy was Money man: Dragan Solak Sport Republic: Ankersson/Kraft Saints Chairman: Kraft Recruiting: Parsons The hierarchy now is Owner: Dragan Solak Sport Republic: Ankersson Saints Chairman: Dragan Solak Recruiting: Spors Dragans new position is specifically to protect his investment. People do not make the money that he has, and not be astute with what is necessary. Juric was appointed before Spors came in, and we are yet to see his ideas on action. 1

This is very over simplified and not hugely accurate. Parsons is CEO. He obviously had a role in recruitment negotiations but in no way would he have been ID'ing and choosing which players to target. The whole point of Spors being brought in is to have a single person responsible for the football operation - its not just names that have changed but roles and responsibilities. 1
Nolan Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Yes, its over simplified, but it's designed to be over simplified. A lot of people don't realise how Ankerssons role has diminished. The structure in place now, is very different to how it was in January.

I get what you're saying but how has Ankersons role diminished though? In that scenario.... 1

My Anderson scar tissue is too great to believe he has little/no influence in SFC
Saint Gifford Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Wouldn’t be surprised if DS has had enough. Prem football now is funded by Countries or people of vast wealth, with Countries funding. Long gone are the days of a normal Billionaire buying a club as their play thing or hobby. FA Cup, League Cup probably the only return for your money these days, in the Prem.

Lol, it was a comment taken out of context, a while back now, that lots of people are aware of, out of frustration Saints are not actively for sale. Can't believe this was reported as news lol

James G Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago All this stuff that is written does genuinely come out of clubs, but none of it happens. Genuinely, the only thing this year that has happened was RVN taking over at Leicester. Nothing else has ever happened. Noone at clubs know anything, I think you have to know agents to get any good information. I've given up with it all lol. It's one of them where if you post everything you hear, something will be right eventually.
