Yep, as I reported before the season started - hence our recruitment of young players and "good" Championship players.

Polite notice: You only need to post this another 17 times to qualify for a medal upgrade 🏅

I reckon this has been the rudest of rude awakenings for Solak and it's hit him like a ton of bricks how much it takes to compete in the Premier League for a club of our size.

It's near on fucking impossible unless you're a mega billionaire

Solak is rich, but is he Premier League football club owner rich?

If I'm Solak and I've just had the season we've just had, I would be thinking what's the fucking point.

Given how interlinked the three clubs are, one can only assume that they are also up for sale?

And worth a lot less in Goztepe’s and Valenciennes case without the joint scouting and management systems?

Rasmus will be out of work and his brother - wonder if he’s fallen out with Solak and Dragan went ‘fuck it, this Rasmus’s pet empire. I want to sack the prick but can’t be arsed to do it solo’?

Get the club promoted again though first, better price, unless he’s got buyers sniffing who reckon they can both buy the club and invest to grow in the PL to promote whatever their mission is?

It does take far less money to make Goztepe/Valenciennes decent sides in their country's. Look at Goztepe for example, we've sent them a load of players that we signed for only a few million and they're trying to get in Europe. Whereas, it costs £20m+ and over £100k on wages these days just to get a proven Premier League player.

It comes to a point where Solak must think he's spent hundreds of million, and what has he got to show for it? Almost the worst Premier League side of all time. If he was guided properly on spending on all that money we could have had a very decent side now. But he wasn't.

Kraft's already jumped ship, Ankersen's focussing on Goztepe, the SR team has fallen apart over the last year and there isn't really any smoke without fire, especially in this age of reporting where nothing really stays secret. We could do with an actual 'in the know' right now.

I have no idea in the truth but

1) if a journalist hears a rumour, looks into it, finds there is no basis to it, then no I would not expect them to report it.

2) if you are trying to sell something it is usual to seek interest in your sale, not deny it.

Unless there is a confidentiality/ exclusivity agreement?

Agree with much of that although Goztepe would never had access to those players without SFC. And SFC was his answer to losing the PL rights in Serbia.

He has brought Spors in as well. My sense, not ITK, is there was a tyre kick or two, Solak’s said via TalkSPORT backed up by the Echo and BBC Solent when asked ‘that’s the price’. Nothing in the commercial world is not never for sale.

Would have been better with a proper transfer strategy.  He’s put more than enough money in, just let complete fuckwits spend it on shite.

Money is not the issue.

We have spent £260m+ in the last two Premier League seasons.

The issue is what that money was spent on!

Spending the money in a better way can be fixed... hopefully.

If Spors gets the opportunity.

My sense is that most clubs are available if the owner’s price is matched, excluding the Bundesliga which has a different culture. But the optics are poor on the Jordan comments which haven’t come from thin air sans a manager, pending a total squad rebuild and the DoFs feet barely under the table. Not to mention a diabolical season.

The timing feels awful and I'm not entirely sure it's imminent, but stuff like this doesn't come out unless there has been some chatter/bits made known in financial circles - Jordan is certainly in those circles.

It makes you wonder if Dragon has bene told exactly how much it's going to cost to fix what Ramus entirely destroyed, so much so that he knows he wouldn't be able to put up the $$$ required, thus putting us up for sale to someone who can.

Let's see what happens, but it's awful timing in respect of managerial appointments/transfers. It really does feel more and more like next season is going to be purely about treading water to me.

I think it’s worth everyone take a step back and remember what a tit Simon Jordan is.

Also worth bearing in mind how trigger happy Talkshite is in releasing “stories” and rumours.

Pay attention to the likes of Alfie House (the Echo) and Adam Blackmore (BBC), they’re most likely to have the inside track. Not some gammon nutter on the radio filling a bit of air time that has a track record of winding up and antagonising.

There is much truth in this, however it wasn’t long ago Dragan was on there being interviewed by Jim White who he is apparently friendly with. Would have taken White seconds to rebut Jordan with ‘news to me or not heard anything about that’.

He didn’t. Doesn’t mean the club is actively up for sale but might mean Dragan will want to oversee another promotion but recognise that to undo the sheer scale of Rasmus’s ineptitude plus compete at the PL level as we traditionally have will cost more than he’s prepared to gamble. So for anyone to kick the tyres more firmly, £125m opens the door to discuss further.

They haven't had the inside track on saints in YEARS.

Blackmore gets the odd exclusive here and there but he's never been "ahead" on anything in I don't know how long.

By the time either of them say anything it's hardly fucking news.

And also...Blackmore went in pretty hard on SportsRepublic with studs up a few weeks ago so I'm guessing his access is about zero these days.

I don't think I've ever seen him dig out club hierarchy while he was still getting exclusives.

Isn't pretty much every club up for sale for the right amount?

The time to be bothered is if/when Solak stops actively investing cash, which is pretty much the only good thing they have done.

House and Blackmore provide additional information and the finer details, but yeah, they're both some way behind Romano and Ornstein when it comes to transfers and breaking news these days. Don't think either of the latter two cover takeovers that much, though. They get their information from agents.

Both House and Blackmore have said on Twitter that they've heard the same rumours before Jordan said it today. But, both seem to know as much as we all do today. You'd have thought that had the statement been completely false then the club may have communicated something this evening, but nothing.

Or, maybe they still all have Mondays off.

With all that said, Alfie House did say on Saturday that season ticket information would be coming out this week...
