One is taking us to the cliff faster than the other ! They both put up a merde show! the team was constipated under Zdziech, it now has diarrhea under SR! We were in ligue 2 with a tiny glimmer of hope at the beginning of each season and the youth teams were doing quite well under the 'dictator'. Now everything is crap. Look at the way SR manages Southampton FC for Pete's sake! Is Pete in trouble again, for fucks sake! 1

We as a fanbase should be far more critical of those in charge, but many want to just drink the Kool Aid and believe all is fine. You still see it with the Cortese love, we've seen it with SR, we saw it with Les Reed too. We get taken for suckers way, way too often when we should be demanding they do better. Ironically of all the people who people do go after, the one that gets the most shit is Kat, who actually cares more and has done more for the club, than any of the others combined. Oh and I'm also in a minority in that i don't think Gao was a particularly bad owner, he kept us on an even keel and left the operation of the football side to football people, he'd have invested more too but that was out of his hands.

Every situation is different and every heritage is different too! I'm not sure that Dunkerque and Boulogne had the disastrous social and financial situation that Valenciennes had before the takeover by Sport Républic! As far as maintaining professional status is concerned, the rules have recently changed! Each club goes before a committee every two years with a dossier to defend and criteria to meet, knowing that with the move from National 1 to Ligue 3 decided by the FFF and the LFP, this will no longer be the case! Valenciennes' situation at the time of the takeover was more than catastrophic, on the verge of bankruptcy and relegation to National 3 or worse. Patience will be the best asset if the project is to take shape, and personally I have no doubts about that. Rome wasn't built in 1 day, was it? Being a supporter means being there through the good times and the bad! Hello ? Rasmus ? is that you ? The barn just called, it is running out of bullshit. What about B Chorley last April asserting that we will be back in Ligue 2 next season or that we own the best DC in the world (Sanda), Manager being sacked ~3 WEEKS AGO, and still no replacement. and I could go on and on... You call out the lies of the previous owner but never keep SR to the same standard. Yes you must definitely be Rasmus or his twin brother. 1

You call out the lies of the previous owner but never keep SR to the same standard. Yes you must definitely be Rasmus or his twin brother. I'm not Rasmus, Ben or Dragan! What's stupid is dumping SR when they've ‘only’ been at the helm for 2 years! Who doesn't make communication errors? At any club for that matter! Like most of my compatriots at Valenciennes, I'm sad about the club's descent into N1 and the fact that ‘for the moment’ the project isn't working out that well, but is that a reason to shoot the owner when he's only been there a short time? Unlike Zdziech, who has had 10 years to prove his worth... That he's absolutely useless! I'm sorry for the friends of Southampton who read our exchange because I know that their situation is complicated at the moment and I'm here to give them my full support. I'm going to stop here with you because I can see that we're not going to agree about our current owner. When you understand that a project needs time to get off the ground, we'll be moving in the right direction!
sadoldgit Posted 11 December, 2024 Posted 11 December, 2024 Like everyone else here I have absolutely no idea what is going on at board level. If though, it has been decided at the highest level that the club will play the same way at all levels, then unless they make a u turn they have painted themselves into a corner. If they sack Martin they will need to replace him with someone who will play with similar tactics (which kind of defeats the object of making a change). I suspect the reason we haven’t heard from them yet is because they find themselves stuck between a rock and a hard place.

It's all guesswork but I reckon they've gone out and approached managers to join "the project" but they've all turned us down. It's patently obvious to everyone that the current style of play isn't working. As an owner, my plan B would be to direct the manager to change his style. In fact, I would sit him down and make him watch the 9/10+ mistakes that have resulted in goals against because of this style - and then I would show him Real Madrid's goal last night which was a boot up to Bellingham who turns and scores. If direct football is good enough for Real Madrid, it's good enough for us! 1

If direct football is good enough for Real Madrid, it's good enough for us! This so-called football will never be successful. Defensively it’s as porous as a paper bucket. Instead of a wall of players blocking the way to our own goal we invite the opposition to invade our defence and run amok amongst us. Instead of a limited arc in front of them to concentrate on our players need to have eyes in the backs of their heads to see where the threats are coming from and they get overwhelmed. 4

We never push the boat out to sign a expensive player, if us and another club are in for a player it’s game over . Is that how you define ambition ? Take the post as a whole and not part of it out of context (by ignoring the final line I used). Spending £260m+ on transfers is ambitious, the issue was how it was spent. We may perhaps have been better off spending that £260m on fewer higher quality players. 1

FarehamSaintJames Posted 11 December, 2024 Posted 11 December, 2024 SR have probably approached managers in recent weeks but no doubt would’ve offered something like three magic beans as a salary. Point is they would’ve gone tight. The funny thing is the more that gap enlarges between relegation and safety the more desperate they become, the more incompetent they look, and the more steeply they’ll have to pay. SR are done. Only a monumental miracle will save them now. They’re being found out for who they are. Either inept chancers or incompetent fools. 1

Well apologies if that’ was your meaning .. it just read more as they where ambitious and we just made poor signings with the money … I was just trying to point out that the total spend itself isn’t really ambitious if your just spending it on lots of players whilst not competing with the other clubs in the league we have really stood still in terms of spending back in 2013 etc we was spending similar anmmounts to west Han . All the likes of Brighton Brentford Bournemouth have got promoted and now buy more ambitiously and this was happening before relegation was a excuse .If we are serious to compete with these clubs we need to be moving with the times and yes agree fewer signings at higher fees and wages is the way forward .. half the players we are spending the money on are not improving the team they are just stuck on the bench like bbd after 3 or 4 starts Edited 12 December, 2024 by pimpin4rizeal 1
