It sounds a bit random to me! Or is it related to the potential takeover? Anyone know anything about it?

What did Sunderland get out of it in 2011? Probably just the usual club link partnership that none of us are the wiser to what benefits Saints get.

This has to be the motivation behind it and a good move. How many players from Africa do we see mentioned having already established themselves in decent European teams, Leipzig and Salzburg seem to do well from there.

Perhaps need an arrangement with a Dutch/Belgian club as a bit of a "nursery" for them then.

We have more partnerships than an open relationship

Seems positive. We get to build our club brand in a good footballing country with decent market, plus access to promising youngsters, whilst they get access to equipment, coaching techniques etc. To get one of the better clubs in West Africa as well is really cool as well.

Appears they are a well supported club in Ghana so quite a big deal over there.
