Why do Spurs fans want Potter?

Brighton are below us.

They've wanted Potter even before lastnight.

I don't get the obsession they have, this is a fanbase that wanted Mourinho gone.

I think Potter is decent. He has Brighton playing pretty well at times they just have utter dross up front and seem worse than us for missing chances when on top during a game.

I think it would be interesting to see him at a bigger team with better players to see if he can take his career to the next level.

They’ve dropped the most points from winning positions of any team this season, more than even us. It’s definitely not just strikers that are their problem, they sometimes end the game with 6 or 7 defenders on the pitch but still can’t hold onto a lead. He’s the hipsters favourite, they’re the hipsters favourite team at the moment, they play ‘such great football’ but don’t score goals and don’t win many games, and haven’t done for two seasons now.

The hipsters favourite team? What does that even mean?

With the quality of their squad I wouldn't expect many managers would get them finishing much higher.

Spurs fans hate their own club and their frustration is going to multiply at the weekend when Arsenal finish above them despite being below them all season.

Will be hilarious to see their fans reaction if that does happen, especially as Arsenal were so far behind them not that long ago.

Their squad isn’t bad at all. Trossard, Webster and Maupay cost over £60mil combined, former England internationals Welbeck and Lallana, Ben White who’s been touted at over £30mil and Lamptey (albeit injured a lot) who’s been linked to Bayern Munich, as well as numerous other internationals in their squad. The ‘hipsters favourite team’ means the sort of team that people watch once, see they can pass it about a bit and say ‘Potter’s doing a great job there’ when the numbers simply don’t back it up. They’re average at best, Potter has done an average job at best.

Exactly this: they've basically gone nowhere under Potter.

Boring old clunker Chris Hughton secured 9 wins in his two seasons finishing 15th and 17th.

Revolutionary, progressive, breath of fresh air, bright young manager Graham Potter has achieved 9 wins in his two seasons finishing 15th aaaand maybe 16th or 17th. With more money than Hughton had.

Fair enough if he beats Arsenal on Sunday thats ten wins so I will take it all back and have to admit he is an absolutely breathtakingly fantastic manager after all.

Can't blame them for hating their own club at the moment, they're finally allowed back in to the ground but at £60 a pop, and then they've been stuck in the higher tier so they can keep the advertising banners on the lower seats, they're about to sell their talisman because he's had enough and they've got a 29-year old manager who's never won anything as a player or coach.

Yeah I know a few who went, £60 is a joke (club tried to justify it offering them some free food), at the end they said stay in your seats for lap of honour , then players didn't bother coming out and after 30 mins announcement said they should leave , booing their team off, skirmishes with the stewards, all in all a great night back 🤣

All about the xG. Forget what game it was maybe Palace where if they play that game ten times they win 3 or 4 nil nine times but they somehow lost.

Plus he is ‘emotionally intelligent’ and eloquent

And probably didn’t even get their magical beer poured upside down either

Nuno leaving Wolves at end of the season, they really have struggled this season since they have been missing Raul Jimenez.

Umm…..has this got the nasty smell of Daniel Levy and Spuds all over it? 🤔

Excellent manager. Would love him at Saints. Will go on to bigger things. Anyway, Nuno+Jimenez to replace Kane is the current thought for the scummy spuds

Nuno to Spuds?

Potter to Wolves?

Lampard to Brighton

Just speculating......probably nothing like it.

Hang on....I'm having an argument with myself to save you guys from doing it 😀

All of that.

Except I think Lampard will end up at palace.

According to some reports, he's distanced himself from Palace. Maybe Wolves and Spuds have already put the feelers out for Lampard

Not sure the hatred that exists between Chelsea and Spurs will allow Lampard there tbh

Possibly. Levy doesn't strike me as the person to let that get in the way of things if he thinks Lampard could do a job there. Whether Lampard would go there is another matter. Let's not forget that Eddie Howe is still unemployed despite the links with Celtic.

Be interesting to see what the referee does about that Skate Begovic. He’s on a yellow and he’s already taking an absolute age to take goal kicks. I doubt  the ref will have the balls to give him a second yellow having already given a pen and red card against Boscombe, but surely he can’t over look the blatant time wasting they’ve been indulging in since about the 20th  minute

I'd rather Barnsley went up. Not because I think Saints will be in a relegation battle, just that I want the weakest opponent possible to come up.

Why do you assume they will be the weakest if they win the play offs eliminating the other three teams? Not logical

The other three have deeper squads and more resources behind them. Swansea and Bournemouth have built that up from recent time in the top league and Brentford have had a sustained period as a top Championship team. This season has been a sudden upturn in fortunes for Barnsley and they still have a lot of lower Championship elements to their setup.

Toney does have very good positioning but has missed some genuine chances today not least the header 10 minutes ago. I know he scored the penalty but not sure how many he would score in the PL where chances at a premium. Woodgate has gone too negative too early, Brentford for all that pressure haven’t worked Begovic.

And Brentford score. Desperate stuff when you rely on Shane Long to get you back into it. Goals goals goals.

Sad to hear about about Bournemouth’s perilous financial position. Should raid for one or two of their players. Not the keeper

Danjuma out of price range but Carter-Vickers and Lloyd Kelly definitely.

I think Carter-Vickers should sign just for double barrelled funsies. But he is a Spurs player. I do think Bournemouth could be pulled apart though. Danjuma looks good, the Buendia/Benrahma of 2021. Should try signing him.

Pleased for Brentford! But as I work on the Tube at Boston Manor, Northfields, South Ealing, Acton Town etc I'm not looking forward to the crowds next season! 😝

But if they went up they would be the strongest by definition. 🙄
