You weren’t Tony Blair’s spin doctor in a former life were you? You’ve just convinced me we are one of the best teams in the world, fair play!

Football always has ups and downs. We might have had a run of horrendous form, but the season certainly isn’t the complete write-off that some are trying to make it out to be.

Last calendar year our results WERE among the best in the world.

The extreme nature of our season is what's creating the reactions I think. Our start was excellent, top of the pile and all that jazz. But the second half is bottom of the pile, not even close to anything else.

I think you've still got to judge it over an entire season though and It'll be interesting to see where we finish, still think we've got a chance of mid 40's and around 14th/13th place and for me that would equal a season which is about par for this squad. It would be interesting to see how the results would have gone during Dec/January if we had the likes of Ings/Vestergaard/KWP available - you'd argue we'd have picked up more points in those games against Fulham and maybe even WHU at home which were both 0-0.

Plus we’ve had some controversial penalty decisions go against us. More than I can remember from previous seasons.

I'd say that Villa home result for one should have been 3 points. We had so many opportunities and then they decided to disallow two totally fine goals for us. That would have given us 40 points. Questionable calls in that Wolves home game as well, we were fairly comfortable until they decided to give Wolves a pen that never ever was. Then our heads dropped.

Been a weird season. If it wasn't for injuries and those weird decisions in a couple of games, we could have been up there with Leeds or Villa in the mid 40's already. Then it would look totally different and no one would be picking on Ralph for a lack of 'plan b'.

We were on the ropes straight away in second half v wolves all because Ralph didn't react to Traore playing a free role in-between the lines which was causing us big problems. That second half was up there with WBA and Leeds games. Awful.

It's a funny one, I think if you'd asked fans before the start of the season 80% of us would have said "mid-table and a decent cup run please mate". We're comfortably mid-table, got to the FA Cup semi-final, but our atrocious form since beating Liverpool has been a real downer.

Arse v Villarreal...Why can’t you select no commentary anymore? Miss monotone cliche is nearly as boring as Martin “wokie” Tyler and Alan “interesting” Smith

Awful isn’t it. Does she ever shut up, buts in every few seconds. Sometimes saying nothing adds to the commentary, she’s incapable of that.

Hopefully when crowds are back they won’t feel so compelled to talk endless words just to fill the vacuum

Shapps mentioning the possibility of the CL final being moved to UK somewhere. It'd be bonkers not to do that IMO; two English teams travelling to the other side of Europe, to play in a COVID bubble in an empty stadium in a red list country would just be madness. Give it to Wembley and let some fans in.

Wembley is hosting the Championship playoff final on the same day as the Champions League final so that probably won't work.  Villa Park would make sense given it will be reduced capacity wherever it is played, but I guess UEFA will want a prestigious venue if possible.

Leicester have just been off it, not close enough, too slow on and off the ball.

We'd have comfortably beaten them last week if we had 11 men IMO. Cheers officials.

We'll only slip one more place this season, thank god.

Burnley vs Fulham Monday, and you've got to hope Burnley win that to fully ensure our safety.

Looks like we really are going to finish 17th. And we don't deserve anything else to be honest.

Well the warning signs for next season are well and truly there, but will probably be unheeded.

Leicester's remaining 3....

Away at Man Utd

Away at Chelsea (FA Cup Final just before)

Home to Spurs.

I think they've fucked it, again.

Add to the fact West Ham have quite an easy run in after Everton.

Brighton, West Brom and Us on the final day.

I think they will be fine for Top 4, but they are certainly leaving it tight which in truth is is needed because the PL was becoming stale with seemingly there being not much to play for

Their game at Utd I can see them winning as I expect Utd will be heavily rotated. Ditto the same for the Spurs fixture too.

Be a good thing when we deny them on the final day then.

A Newcastle team who've been largely atrocious this season are now ahead of us (although we do have games in hand). Bit depressing

Lucky? Are you suggesting we’ll finish lower than that? 🤣🤣

No mate,  we'll finish lowest of the low without getting relegated,  which is about all we deserve after this car crash of a season.   Next season though,  I really fear for us.

Of course I don't like us slipping a place, but......

Hahahahahahaha "Rat Boy" Vardy, "Gobshite" Maddison and their mates fucking it up.....again. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.

I'm a little bit nervous for next season, for sure.

But let's see what we do with the squad in the summer. I have a feeling there will be more changes than we expect, the club have 100% acknowledged that we are not strong enough depth wise.

Sadly as Saints fans we all know that the board like to acknowledge things without ever doing anything about it!

I think they want to, they're not going to avoid doing it themselves. I don't have a problem with this board. It's just where the funds come from, we either manage to sell a couple or some investment comes in time. It's clear it's never coming from Gao, so we just need to get that chapter done and dusted as quick as we can.

Fucking hope so , then all the praise heaped on them by the commentators might just calm down with the Foxes love in .

Leicester imploding for the second season in a row when on the verge of something big. Just like Liverpool did a few years ago, one thing they both have in common, who was manager?

Man United will play their weakest team, under the guise of resting players for Europa League but with the handy bonus of making things more difficult for Liverpool if they lose to Leicester.

We should all enjoy Leicester's story, the way they threaten to interrupt the big six in the league and upset the constant. The problem is they are not plucky, they are really arrogant.

The media love fest makes commentary unbearable. And add to that Vardy & Maddison's rat faces while they dive around and fake injury, well its a broken deal.

I'd prefer West Ham to steal the glory. and I don't like them much!

It's a good job fans aren't allowed in the stadium because Derby fans would be tearing it down.

Absolute madness to stick with Rooney when Steve McClaren is sat picking up a wage in an upstairs role. McClaren ain't no genius but he's organised enough to not lose 8 games out if nine and relegate that team.

The ultimate vanity appointment and an absolute disaster. Glum times in Derby.

Some grim defending by Derby today, they don't deserve anything. Quite glad they are going down because I'm still annoyed about that play off semi final.
