That's a ridiculous red card

The thing is, he then went over and looked it numerous times and for some reason felt it was a red when he didn't in real time.

It feels as if whenever they ask the on field ref to have a look at the screen, in effect they are saying ''we think it's this, i'll let you see it before confirming'. In effect, it totally undermines the on field referee really.

They've got to fix this VAR shit.

Of the 13 teams above us, which should Hasenhuttl be disappointed not to be higher than? I'd say only Crystal Palace and possibly Leeds. So hardly a poor season when looked as a whole rather than just the last 4 months.

we have a very real chance of finishing 17th.

Absolutely buzzing that Watford and Norwich have been promoted. Those two will really freshen up the division.

Indeed. Hence why im hoping Barnsley or Brentford get promoted (either of which will likely stay up at our expense)

They will be if they’re as bad in his second full season.

I'm sure they will, they have underperformed even for Arsenal.

My mate supports them, and cant stand the manager or the keeper. I think its just a reflection of football now, they have been left behind.

More worryingly for them was not learning about paying Ozil £300k per week and not being worth it, they've done the same for Aubameyang and his form fell off the same cliff as Ozil.

Game over.  Horrible to think that Burnley will finish comfortably above us once again

Last season they were one place and only 2 points above us. If they win today by a decent margin they are only above us on goal difference?

How is that comfortably?

Burnley winning means Wolves and Burnley remain catchable for Saints. Wolves winning means we probably wouldn't catch Wolves.

They are showing determination, guts and composure against Wolves, they have gone above us because sadly we are incapable of showing those qualities. It’s not rocket science.

Have you forgotten how we recently beat Burnley 3-2 having been losing to them 2-0? Was that not showing those qualities?

No I haven’t, I also haven’t forgotten our record since beating Liverpool in January. One swallow doesn’t make a summer.

You claimed Saints were "incapable" of showing those qualities.  So that is clearly incorrect given they did vs the team you are praising.

Jesus, you are such a pedantic little bugger aren’t you, ok just for you I will rephrase it as “rarely capable” 😏

We would be with Chris Wood in the team. He's the sort of player that Saints are currently missing.

We are safe.

If the quality of our signings are going to be the standard of Chris Wood then i fear we won't improve at all.

Just watching Fiorentina v Juve . Caceras is playing well for Fiorentina.

Saints let him go on a free, and paid 15 million for Hoedt instead. Vintage Les Reed!

Was class centre half him .. think he commanded a pay as you play and he set that at 90k a game for saints and the only game he played was v Middlesbrough.. you could see he was class but was alittle rusty cos he hadn’t played in a year cos of injury.. class act tho .. wen match fit rolls Royce material 👌🏻

Even crazier that he couldn't get in the team ahead of Jack Stephens. No idea what Puel was thinking.

City win the league cup for the 4th year in a row..............yawn.

At least Hojbjerg was partly to blame for the goal by not covering the post properly.

I have no love for Man City but much prefer them to Spurs.

My favourite bit was when he found himself in the box  and instead of shooting tried a pass. He over hit it horrendously and then blamed the full back.

Yes that was priceless. Bad luck Pierre you twonk.

With Burnley winning, Newcastle getting a point and West Brom currently winning v Villa, it would be really fucking handy if Saints would pull their fingers out of their collective arse and beat Leicester and put this season to bed. It’s getting a little bit uncomfortable down there now...

If we lost the last five games then it's still not certain. Stranger things have happened with saints!

I’d rather not test that theory, sooner we achieve safety the sooner they can start analysing this abortion of a season and making plans to ensure it doesn’t happen again....

I've just looked at West broms fixtures for the first time this season. If they did manage to win today they could quite easily beat wolves, arsenal and someone like Leeds. Imagine if we hadn't beaten Burnley!
