Great, we’ll feel their backlash on Wednesday

And if Man City won comfortably today would you have said... 'Great, we’ll feel their confidence on Wednesday'?

🤔😉

I was thinking the same.  They haven't played badly but generally just failed to finish good chances.  We could be in for a drubbing. Hope our bus is big enough.

I always prefer the team we are playing next to have not lost their previous game.

Manchester City, almost certainly this season's champions, and a much better team than Saints, have lost to Manchester United, also a much better team than Saints. What expectation for our match at the Etihad later this week did anybody realistically have, and how have these materially changed as a consequence of this evening's match ?

Almost as bad as one with 22 consecutive wins under their belt and supremely confident.

Have we ever lost on Wednesday at 6pm?

Nothing changes unless Pep throws a wobbler fucks them all off and they sulk playing us. Win or lose today City will almost certainly do us Wednesday

Liverpool's massive drop in form kind of puts ours in perspective, shows how much impact form, confidence and some key injuries can have on teams.

Kane and Bale stand over a free kick, Chris Coleman “I don’t think there’s any player in the premier league you’d want ahead of these two to take a free kick” ...

Chelsea strolled to a win there against Everton. Commentators saying how good they are, what a run of form they've had since Tuchel joined.

They've won 7 and drawn 2 in the last 9 games. The other draw was against Man Utd. Just goes to show how well we played in that game to limit them to very few chances and get a point.

It would be funny if they don't qualify for Europe this season.

West Ham gave Leeds a bit of a chasing in that first half. 2-0 and it could have been more.

Very odd game so far. Leeds could have had 3 or 4 already, West Ham look like they’re going to score from every set piece. Kalvin Phillips looks like a player just back from injury, very rusty

Presumably the West Ham fans will recommence their Sullivan/Gold Out protests the minute they Covid restrictions allow them to.

Ok West Ham win their game in hand and they are 2 points off 2nd.  What.

Yup they’ve been very impressive this season. Were quietly going about their business at the start of the season despite a tough fixture list, and just keep winning the games they “should” win.

The dildo brothers promised “next level” football when they moved to the Soulless Bowl, and it looks like they’ll get that. Would be a disappointment for them to not qualify for Europe now.

That was a fair result in my eyes. Newcastle needed to win that though.

Newcastle without their 3 main attackers keep plodding on.  The international break will do them wonders re: injuries.

Their game against Brighton next is huge because after that they have Spurs, City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Leicester, West Ham still to play. Away to Burnley and Fulham wont be easy either

Fulham last day, could be winner takes all

Chris Wilder sacked by Sheffield United yesterday and I’ve only just seen the news. Does he count as another manager that losing to Saints have got them sacked? There’s quite a list now I think?

Chelsea really have spent an extraordinary amount of money on a lot of bang-average players. Almost makes our recruitment look competent.

Players look good playing in a system that suits them , when they step up and suddenly asked to be lone striker or play left side rather than right side etc they look crap . Having said that selling teams hear Chelski and say GK that will be £70M please !

No idea why but I'm watching the Papa Johnston's Paint Trophy final. Jordan Turnbull just absolutely clattered John Marquis. Good lad.

Salford could easily be ahead.

Salford all over them. The Pompey keeper has already pulled off 3 good saves. All they seem to do is smash it randomly up the pitch, they are crap.

According to BBC stats Pompey have not had any kind of a shot or even won a corner and it's half time.

They've panicked and made 3 half time subs!

First time I've watched West Brom since we played them earlier this season, they are utter shite. No chance of them staying up.

West Brom are dross. Won't miss them next year. Palace aren't much better either, this game has been pure pain.

This group of the league (Palace down) is really a swamp of trash. Sadly, we've managed to join it.

Standard was awful wasn't it, best scenario today, tough 120 mins for them followed by a morale sapping defeat on pens, dropped out of the play off places and go to 2nd place Peterborough on Tuesday night. Surely they won't miss out on promotion again?

Cracking first half at Goodison. Burnley playing superbly.

Agree, they don't look like Burnley at all playing with freedom, some great movement going forward.

When Everton beat us, they looked dreadful. The difference tonight is Burnley has made them pay the price. Mid-table beckons.

Might have a look on GoT later, that will be funny.

Burnley winning adds a bit more pressure on tomorrow. Have to win or at least not lose. Gonna be nervy. Brighton are not bad at all.

I see Pep is going easy on Fulham tonight judging by the team he's picked. No Marez, De Bruyne,  Foden, Sterling, Walker, Gundogan or Fernandinho.
