Probably just me being a tool but whenever I see headlines like, ‘Chelsea take on Rennes’, I can’t help but picturing a team full of Renne Artois’ complete with dirty aprons.

Very silly......but in keeping with that idea, Officer Crabtree from the same Allo Allo series, who always mixed his vowels up and made everything sound slightly suggestive, should be the Rennes coach.

"OK lads, don't give any silly free kocks away, but we should still tickle their strokers  if they approoch our box".......sorry.

Palace v Newcastle a goalfest.....of course it isn’t. Two of the worst free kicks from either side just been taken. Benteke now coming on, without Zaha struggling to see Palace score although better side. Eze bright but too deep too often to do damage. Newcastle happy for the 0-0.

Wilson close with a header, their first effort on goal for a while.

Even Tranmere v Brackley was goalless last time I checked

I note Clyne is back at Palace again. I wouldn't have called it for his career to have gone the way it did.

ending up at Palace playing top flight football is nothing to be sniffed at.

Maupay misses a pen for Brighton and goes off with a hamstring injury not long after. Wish we could play Liverpool at the moment, bare bones.

Maupay may miss the game with Saints next week then.

Wonder if any disciplinary action against Klopp for sarcastically clapping the lino after that.

I doubt it, he does it all the time when decisions don’t go his way

Stupid yellow for legit challenge on Jota

Yeah and reviewed for a red and should have told Atwell to rescind the yellow.

Think penalties should be scrapped unless its a goal scoring chance.

Liverpool not having a great season....things you love to see.

They’ve done ok despite big injuries, I think.

    Everton 0-0 Leeds

There have been 31 shits so far in this game.

Everton's bubble totally burst now. 4 points from their last 6 games and 3 of them were against Fulham.

They have Burnley next so should win that at a canter but it's all change since we beat them comfortably at St Mary's.

Leeds were all over Everton. I thought Everton looked very flat and one dimensional.

It does go to show though - how quickly things can swing around in this league. They were untouchable at the end of October, now they look awful.

Less said about Burnley the better, they do not belong in this league.

The next game should be a humdinger..

Should be an absolutely great game when we play them.

Yep, it’s one I was most looking forward to when I thought we would have fans back. Still looking forward to it. Might be a bit like wolves, bit of cancelling each other out. They are a threat.

True, although considering the last two years - a handful of games at Bournemouth without much impact, and a whole season without playing - I would classify that as a massive nosedive in comparison to the promise he showed with us. Good to see him get a run of games with his first club, which will hopefully build his confidence again.

I really can't tell if this was intended or not.

Don’t know what you want in a game if you think that was turgid?

I was watching and cooking dinner and watching in chunks, the bit I saw to prompt my comment it was a bit grim, a whole series of incomplete easy passes

Pompey through to the FA Cup 3rd round which opens up the slim possibility of another derby.

Would prefer a 'tamer' tie so that we can give a few of our fringe / B-team players a game.

38 attempts at goal. Also was flowing football, Leeds just can’t score.

Thought Wolves looked really handy tonight, Arsenal are full of rubbish nowadays though aren't they?

I remember the days you used to fear them - Henry, Viera, Gallas, Sanchez, Petit, Bergkamp, Pires, Van Persie etc - they always had superstars, but they don't seem to have anything anymore and it's a game that you now earmark as a chance for 3 points. They have a few 'decent' young players from their academy who are now thrust into first team action, and a selection of 'experienced' crap to beef out the side. Not sure where they're going atm, their fans wanted Wenger out for years but it's clear to me that the reason for their regression is squad quality. (or lack of)

The injury to Jimenez looked a shocker - reminded me of the Petr Cech one 10 years or so ago, can't imagine he's got away without a skull fracture of sorts?

Fractured skull, he's having surgery today. The real shocker is that Luiz was allowed back on the pitch after colliding with another player hard enough to hospitalise him.

There is pressure to stagger 10 games across the weekend but surely noon on Sunday is preferable to 530 on Monday?
Although I have out it on in background
