bpsaint Posted 6 September, 2020 Posted 6 September, 2020 Second and Third round draw is due to start in about 45 minutes on sky after Brentford vs Wycombe. Unusually due to the pandemic they will be drawing both rounds one after the other to allow clubs and broadcasters to forward plan ASAP. Skates at home is my obvious choice for the second round. Also incidentally how have Brentford managed to build a new ground that looks dated already!?

Manuel Posted 6 September, 2020 Posted 6 September, 2020 Got to stick Boufal on against the Baggies, if he's still around.
S-Clarke Posted 6 September, 2020 Posted 6 September, 2020 It'll be interesting to see what sort of team Brentford field, at the moment it's a very tricky team. The 'mass exodus' that most predicted hasn't happened yet, so they still have a frightening array of Premier League level attackers IMO.

Given potential fixture congestion (rounds 2/3/4 are being played over the first three mid-weeks of the season) I can see mass rotation from both teams.

They didn't pick Ollie Watkins or Said Benrahma for today's first round game against Wycombe on the basis that they're expecting them both to leave so it's fairly pointless trying to work on a system when they're not likely to be a part of the team in the coming weeks. Anyone else who missed out today was on international duty.
beatlesaint Posted 6 September, 2020 Posted 6 September, 2020 Given what the Chief Exec said on Solent yesterday I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Brentford game used as a test for bringing back fans
SNSUN Posted 6 September, 2020 Posted 6 September, 2020 I was going to say... shame we're not away to Brentford and fans can already do a new ground... then remembered the times we live in!

stevegrant Posted 6 September, 2020 Posted 6 September, 2020 If Harrogate get through, the game will be at Doncaster anyway, Harrogate's new pitch won't be ready.
suewhistle Posted 6 September, 2020 Posted 6 September, 2020 (edited) I'm still going to Betty's.. Edited 6 September, 2020 by suewhistle Underlining.. 1

Be typical wouldn’t it. Just imagine Harrogate v Saints at Wetherby road. Packed capacity crowd with the Wetherby Road Kop making Frazer Forster go to pieces, saints fans giving it “just a small town near Guisley” the Harrogate Chaos Crew giving it’s throat slit gestures to the Saints yoof from 50 yards away, saints yoof armed with scones and fat rascals for the scary walk across the stray back to the station. Instead it’ll likely be at Doncaster in front of about 50 people 2
Saint Keef Posted 7 September, 2020 Posted 7 September, 2020 Assuming we beat Brentford and then we get West Brom.........Charlie Austin? Just googled his profile to make sure they haven't sold him yet. All the pictures show him still in a Saints kit. Weird! Hasn't he had his photo taken up there yet?

He uses the same photographer as Salisu
Baird of the land Posted 13 September, 2020 Posted 13 September, 2020 Curious to see the extent of the changes that are made for Brentford from yesterday's game.

Badger Posted 13 September, 2020 Posted 13 September, 2020 If anything they looked to need to regain match practice and fitness yesterday rather than needing a rest. But I expect some of the above will get a run out.
stevegrant Posted 13 September, 2020 Posted 13 September, 2020 Brentford in a similar situation too, having had a disappointing defeat yesterday at Birmingham. They were also pretty underwhelming - albeit with a weakened XI due to international call-ups - last week against Wycombe in the first round. I don't see it being a thriller
