Bang goes my theory of Jankewitz stepping up....? :(

looks like we're keeping Boufal then

Can we get a better 4th choice AM? It's only for a year then his contract is out so I'd guess he's off then. He can't be happy at not getting regular game time as he enters what is supposed to be his prime.

Still 4 keepers on the books. Surely one will leave.

Just because certain players are listed now does not mean they or we are not looking to get rid. By not listing them you are telling them you don't want them when it might actually be that we end up needing them in the squad and it will tell other clubs we do not wsnt them which gives them room to negotiate a lower fee.

I'd imagine that the youth players we are considering will not get a number until closer to the start of the season as Ralph is probably giving a number of them a chance to prove themselves in preseason.

Good spot, MLG.

Not surprising, I suppose.  I guess we have options within the squad even if we don't sign another centre-mid.

I'd be very surprised if we let PEH and Reed go without replacing. I reckon we'll see movement on the CM front once Reed leaves (which looks inventible now)

Some players get attached to certain numbers. Also Armstrong at 17 would be in the likely starting XI instead of Long.

Yes, you're right about Armstrong - missed that. And Forster is in with 44. I know he's very superstitious about that. Attributed his loss of form/confidence to switching to 1.

Additional squad numbers from today's game against Swansea:

30 Callum Slattery

54 Christoph Klarer

64 Alex Jankewitz

All unchanged on last season.  Given there are nearly 20 numbers vacant between 13 and 50 (probably more by the time loans are arranged), I'd have thought we could have given two players who are on the fringe of the first team more sensible squad numbers - plenty free in the 20s and 30s.  Tella and Ferry similarly

Squad is looking very thin by all accounts:

Also assuming that we sell Boufal with no replacement our squad Compared to last season:

out Cedric, Yoshida, Hojbjerg, Boufal

in: Salisu Walker-Peters

a New CM is the priority but even with that, the squad is weaker.

i m struggling to see how we can make top 10 when others have considerably stregthened. 12th-16th is more likely imo
