TTA, James, Trippier, Walker, Shaw, Wan Bissaka, KWP, Livramento, Chilwell, Cresswell, Lamptey to name 11 off the top of my head - there's bound to be others. All very good attacking options and just shows how important "attacking" full-backs are in the current game. Of course, they'd have to be managed by Stuart "Psycho" Pearce. England could make a decent 11 out of just right backs Walker (played in goal for City once) Justin Wan-Bissaka Trippier Livramento Trent Maitland-Niles KWP James Tavanier Lampety Bench: Godfrey, Ben Johnson, Ayling, Baldock, Clyne, Kenny, Ward, Fredericks, Chambers 1
SNSUN Posted 26 March, 2022 Posted 26 March, 2022 3 CBs at home? Southgate, the Hassenhuttl of national football. 😀 ...and RWB isn't KWP's strongest position so hopefully he isn't ripped to shreds by the media if he doesn't have a great game.
davefizzy14 Posted 26 March, 2022 Posted 26 March, 2022 Go on Kyle hope Prowsey and Fraser come on later too. 1
SNSUN Posted 26 March, 2022 Posted 26 March, 2022 Stones injured in the warm up so White comes on. Another Saints link however tenuous
DT Posted 26 March, 2022 Posted 26 March, 2022 Cannot understand how Mount starts ahead of JWP. Except Chelsea, obvs. Always felt Mount is overrated 2

Dont think mount should be starting right now, his form has fell off a cliff.
LiberalCommunist Posted 26 March, 2022 Posted 26 March, 2022 A mexican wave. So glad I'm watching F1. Even with multiple red flags I know its better than that shite......

The ball didn't often get played to him on the right in positions where he could do anything and Gallagher was often crowding him out. England though were very poor and the referee /VAR awarded the win thanks to a joke penalty for handball. 1

Players are aiming the ball to purposely hit the hands of defenders. 1

Always passing backwards and safe rather than driving forward as he does for us. Of course, that could be the way Southgate has instructed him to play. Pretty untested defensively.

Dark Munster Posted 29 March, 2022 Posted 29 March, 2022 Let's hope an Ivory Coast defender can chop down Grealish in JWP territory.
igsey Posted 29 March, 2022 Posted 29 March, 2022 Zaha saw Prowsey's name on the team sheet and pussied out. 3
tajjuk Posted 29 March, 2022 Posted 29 March, 2022 How when we have a country full of right backs are we playing a centre-back there?

Not like he needs to see if he can cover a shortage of right backs with a CB. Prowsey barely put a foot wrong, some really good passing. Sterling looked a lot better when he came off the right wing. Not too impressed with Mitchell, seems unsure what to do when he has the ball.
trousers Posted 29 March, 2022 Posted 29 March, 2022 (edited) Penalty.... JWP...? Edit: nope, defender got the ball first Edited 29 March, 2022 by trousers
Jimmy_D Posted 29 March, 2022 Posted 29 March, 2022 What a ball that was from KWP to Grealish in the build up to the penalty shout though
Jimmy_D Posted 29 March, 2022 Posted 29 March, 2022 KWP almost too good there, no one else gambled on him being able to get that cross in
beatlesaint Posted 29 March, 2022 Posted 29 March, 2022 Got to say, although I’m biased, but I don’t think KWP is doing himself any harm here whatsoever. Looking very good again.

He's unlucky that there's so many players already in front of him, he'll have to be absolutely immense AND have a couple of the players ahead of him fall off a bit for Southgate to make the decision to change the established players. 1

Hopefully the fact he's as comfortable playing left back as he is right back will stand him in good stead. Effectively frees up an extra squad selection slot for Southgate if he picks a player who offers such versatility. 1
trousers Posted 29 March, 2022 Posted 29 March, 2022 Not capitalising on having an extra man for over half the game. I thought it was only Saints that did that...

beatlesaint Posted 29 March, 2022 Posted 29 March, 2022 He does like taking a lot of right backs to a tournament tho does Southgate so fingers crossed 🤣

trousers Posted 29 March, 2022 Posted 29 March, 2022 I think Kane has touched the ball about 4 times since he's come on
Saint_clark Posted 29 March, 2022 Posted 29 March, 2022 Poor from England the last 20 minutes. Players screaming for it in the wide positions then when they get it just immediately going backwards without looking for a forward option. Playing it so conservative in a friendly V 10 men.
Saint_clark Posted 29 March, 2022 Posted 29 March, 2022 Ffs, that'll keep Mings in the squad for a while.
