Get a grip.  Firstly, the article says the player is asymptomatic.  Secondly, a fit athlete of the age range of the current footballing squad at Southampton is highly unlikely to suffer any serious reaction to COVID-19.   The overwhelming majority of people suffering bad symptoms either have underlying health conditions or are severely obese.

to back this up
There was a player in the Europa League Semi and Final that had been tested positive for Covid only a matter of weeks before making an appearance.

Away from football Perez the Mexican driver for Racing Point was tested positive after going to see his ill mother and was quarantined for both Silverstone Grand Prix then was back racing in Barcelona last weekend - Formula 1 might well see you sat on your arse for 90 minutes but most of us normal folk given a chance to drive at race pace in a F1 car, would be having to come in for a rest after 5-6 laps due to the exertion maintaining the pace.

There have been other professional sports folk who have been positive and are back out competing in no time.

Odd...either there was someone and they're now back (Redmond) or there was never anyone and Redmond was awol for a few weeks....

Weird...

Just means there are none from Saints in the latest round of testing, not that there wasn't one in one of the previous rounds.

I haven't seen Super Saint or Sammy Saint in any of the training pics.

If rumours are true then obviously Sammy Saint went off the rails and fathered a litter of 8, so it must have been Super Saint.

Mystery solved.
