If you thought we had heard the last of the Leicester 0-9  debacle look at the BBC news/football web site, then the above  item -heading number 4. I guess you could argue  that Vardy's hat  trick that day robbed Ings of the Golden boot

It was a shock result and the biggest ever top flight away win, why wouldn't it be mentioned?

Personally i really don't mind the constant bringing up of it by the media. It was the culmination of 3 years of utter dross on the pitch and pretty much forced us to, as Ralph said, "hit the reset button" and kickstart this amazing run we've been on. i'm glad it happened.

Why does everyone hate us so much? Why won't they let it lie? If it was any other team that had lost 0-9 equaling the all time top flight record for the biggest defeat at home it would barely register a mention after a couple of weeks.

I don’t have a problem with it being one of the talking points of the season, of course it will be. I have a bit of an irritation when it comes to mentioning it every 5 minutes during our games - it’s like when Van Dijk was playing for us it was mentioned every 5 minutes that Liverpool wanted us. I just group these things as evidence that most pundits never watch us and don’t have much else to say - like when Sunday’s commentator said it was a ‘rare start’ for Che Adams when he’s started most games since lockdown, or when Danny Murphy said Cedric was a good crosser of the ball when we played Derby in the FA Cup last year.

It's no surprise that such a big defeat remains news but I haven't heard any commentator add that when we played them in the return fixture we beat them, and that amazing turn around should also be news

I find it's usually mentioned as part of a turnaround..."they lost 9-0, but now they're pretty damned good" sort of thing.

Literally every time the 9-0 is talked about in the last few months it's been talked about as a) the beginning of a fantastic turnaround b) how commendable to stick with Ralph including a new contract, and how that has paid off.

It's always presented as part of a positive story. Always.

Sometimes I really wonder what people are actually listening to.

I can remember getting beaten 8-0 in the sixties. and another was 7-0 (was one v Everton?)

Not such a fuss  made then.although I agree most comment this time were positive  Took a while from us beating MU 6-3 when they claimed could not see each other theirein grey strip which they changed at half time

Actually the grey strip fiasco was the season before when we beat them 3-1.

Both wins were very enjoyable though.

It's no excuse for the nine goals, but the red card was a significant factor overlooked by all commentators, we'd have kept them to five or six without that.

Either way, we beat them 2-1 when they had a full team and however many you score, I believe you still get three points.

😊

As I said around the time - I can live with that score line simply because my neighbour is a Leicester fan (more Rugby than Footie) but weirdly that was the first time he had seen them in a league game, and what a game to see your team win handsomely away as a first. The reason why I can live with it - my neighbour nicest chap getting all set for retirement has the bombshell dropped on him that he has terminal bowel cancer - his first target was to see last Christmas, his current target is to reach his wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks time. For him I am pleased he saw such a bizarre spectacle - as for the game his situation puts everything into perspective as a team and fans we can brush ourselves down and carry on.

We got hammered 0-9 at home.

It's a record that will stand long after we are dead and buried.

Of course it's the standout result of the season.

Yes we get pissed off to the constant references to it but it's hardly surprising that it is reference all the time.

Standout result for Leicester but not Saints!! All I said initially is we have not heard the last of it . At least it sparked  a lively debate
