Title Bonus Clauses

Good morning all and many commiserations,

In an effort to cheer us all up, does anyone know if Saints are due any additional monies through transfer clauses (given Liverpool have just won the title)?

Pretty bloody galling that the Bindippers PL winning team contains 5 of our lads from the halcyon days under Koeman. Should have been us winning the trophy.

Saints did not sell Chamberlain to Liverpool, any clause regarding winning the league applies to the club you sell him to... not subsequent teams.

IIRC there were some big add ons with Virgil for winning the league circa 10 million, not so mane.. but I cant access the telegraph report.

If Les Reed wanted cash up front there is no shame in that as how many teams in the past 30 years never got paid out on Liverpool winning titles?

If there are bonuses to be paid great

the problem was never getting good prices it was always wasting the money afterwards

It's only Mane and VVD who have really had an impact for them as far as I'm aware? As MLG pointed out Chamberlain was sold by Cortese and never played for us in the premier league.

Doesn't prevent us from wondering what we could have achieved had we held onto some of our players, but fans of every team go through the same issues. Even Liverpool had to sell Coutinho.

Would be good if we did get a bonus for the likes of Lallana and Lovren just before they inevitably get binned off for better options.

Given we had a sell on clause on AOC, do we now also get a percentage of the bonus Arsenal made in selling him to Liverpool and them winning the leauge? NC would have tried to bill it, thats for sure 😅

He has not played for Liverpool this season, so I doubt any clause would be triggered unless reaching a games played milestone.

Five? It is two!

Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk are the players at Liverpool that played this season for them that also played for Saints under Koeman.

- Lovren didn't play a league game for Koeman

- Lallana didn't play a league game for Koeman

- Oxlade-Chamberlain didn't play for Saints above League One

- Clyne hasn't played for Liverpool this season
