The ability to access pretty much any music that's ever been recorded at any time. 3. Antibiotics. 4. Kevin Keegan signing for Saints.

Matthew Le God Posted 25 April, 2020 Share Posted 25 April, 2020 I’d put Forest winning the league followed by 2 European cups above Leicester’s . The financial gap between Forest and their competitors in England & Europe in the late 70s was tiny compared to Leicester and their competitors in 2015/16. Absolutely. Back then QPR, Ipswich, WBA even us could build sides to challenge. Forest was incredible but when Leicester did it everyone seemingly acknowledge that no club other than big clubs could ever win league. Hence 5000/

Forest had a decent capacity ground though, which is where most income came from then. Arguably Saints coming second in 1980s when the capacity of the Dell was maybe 18,000 was a similar sized achievement
Lord Duckhunter Posted 26 April, 2020 Share Posted 26 April, 2020 (edited) Forest had a decent capacity ground though, which is where most income came from then. Arguably Saints coming second in 1980s when the capacity of the Dell was maybe 18,000 was a similar sized achievement Don’t talk nonsense man. Winning the league plus 2 European cups in an era when Liverpool dominated trumps second any day of the week. Forest were 13th in division 2, 5 points from relegation with gates of around 8,000 when Cloughie took over. In 5 years he won, League championship, 2 European cups ,2 league cups & a European super cup. 5 years!!!!! He did it with 5 players that were at the club when they were 5 points out of the relegation zone as well. Had a forest fan walked into the bookies in Jan 75 and asked the bookies for a price on Forest winning the league, 2 European cups, 2 league cups & a super cup by 1981, I think he’d have got more than 5,000-1 . He’d probably have been sectioned under the mental health act as well. These are the clubs that have won more European cups than Forest, shows back to back wins by provincial clubs wasn’t quite as easy as some are making out. Real Madrid AC Milan Liverpool Bayern Barcelona Ajax Inter Manchester Utd I’d call that 5 year period and what forest achieved a miracle, finishing second is not. As an aside, don’t forget the guy took Derby from 17th division 2 to the league championship as well.
