The Swansea game will be featured on the television and Radio Solent and The Echo are covering the protests.

See facebook groups for details, there are currently two main protests and already 1000 people confirmed for the main march starting at the bargate.

The fly-over appeal is still going and hopefully that will take place at the Swansea game as well.

If it wasn't so sad it would be funny but 1 week in to their campaign the 'fringe' has drummed up a couple of busloads of fans for a demonstration against the club. 162 have said they will be there by clicking a 'yes button' which is hardly a commitment but assuming 162 do attend you have drummed up less than 1.5% of even our lowest crowd this season and less than 0.6% of those who turned up for the Sheff Utd game last season and the Man U cup games.

Hardly a landslide is it? Goes to show that as much as some of you like to bark your damaging comments you have no bite. Enjoy your march which I suspect will be down to a mere handful by the time you reach the ground as people pop into the shops and pubs on the way too embarrassed to carry on.

162 + Mary Corbett although she has plenty of time to change her mind about 3 times between now and Saturday. See you at the game and play nice, no aggressive eyeballing senior citizens and inviting banks of fellow fans outside to settle YOUR differences just because they ask you to sit down so they can watch the game they've paid to see.

162 and a following that is falling in percentage terms the more we move on and see the folly of this anarchic action.

What do we want?! Lowe Out

How do we do it?!.....err.......ummmm...don't know.

Who do want?!...Err...well Crouch is the obvious one but he didn't do so good last time so....Mary is Saints through and through but well you know...how about Lawrie, well we couldn't afford him as he will need about £500ph to cover his expenses (£75k/23 home games)..Who do you want?????????? Don't know that either.

As demonstrations go this could be one of the worse, who is going to be your celebrity leading you in? Leon Crouch or Hong Kong Phooey?

Get your boots on....you know it makes sense....;)

Over 1000 confirmed, eh? That makes Ninteen Canteen's figure of 162 look a bit silly, doesn't it? But he obviously made the mistake of counting just those who had committed on here.

If anywhere near 1000 turn up at the start, the attendance will snowball when it gets going through the city centre and others join in on impulse. This could be big. It could also have the numbers swell if we lose badly tonight against Norwich.

How have they confirmed exactly? Not knocking it, just interested in how a confirmation can be assumed of someone turning up to go on a march. I confirmed I would play rugby last Saturday but then decided to get drunk instead.

I had a dream last night. The march contained a brass band and people dressed like characters from the life of brian. When we got to the ground we sat in total silence throughout the first half. It was very effective actually.

Was there any nudity in the dream? May affect my decision to turn up if it turns out to be a premonition rather than a dream....

The match was held up for half an hour because there was a mass sit down on the pitch before the game. No nudity that I can recall but I would happily perform the sit-down naked if it would drum up more support.

Going to get some placards made, anyone got any good ideas??

"Down with this sort of thing"?

I won't be joining the protest, not because I don't think that there are serious problems at the club or that I don't believe that Rupert Lowe is at least partially responsible. However, the objectives of the march don't seem clear to me. Yes, as fans we are not happy and we want something to change. But what? Do we really believe that, even if Rupert chooses to fall on his sword having seen the masses rise against him , the debts will just go away? Do we think that a new chairman, even man of the people Leon Crouch, will have any more flexibility to bring in quality players or a big name manager? Just saying "Rupert out" might be an attractive way to spend an hour but it doesn't really offer any practical alternative. And so, in the immortal words of former football chairman Theo Paphitis, I'm out.

The more the better. That said Lowe won't care as he won't see it. We need to sing anti lowe songs during the game.

For all the negatives that Lowe isbn't there on Saturday - I would expect there to be plenty of other shareholders and representatives of Barclays looking at their investment!

The fact is the more vocal we are when Lowe isn't there the less chance of him spinning it with the other directors that it's a small minority "lunatic fringe".

I understand the game is featured on ITV and there is bound to be cameras there for all the fun when we arrive on private property. Still the old bill will be more worried about Swansea youth trying to start trouble - and we can't afford loads of stewards inside and outside the ground - can we (maybe Lowe says YES?

Has anyone taken on the mantle of spokesperson for the march if there is a chance of an interview? I'm sure Nick Illingsworth would be up for it! (Winky smiley thingy).

Seriously though it must be thought about - as it is a real chance to get the fans views over. I really think perhaps Fitzhugh Fella might be calm and eloquent enough to get a point over - without any agenda! What about it Dunc?

I don't think the magnitude of this march is going to be appreciated until Saturday - it may just be a damp squibb especially if the weather is bad - after all we are all stayaway fair weather fans!!!!

This could be just the start - so let's make it count...

What a bizarre idea. OK i can understand a demo at the ground where Lowe and the others can hear, but a march through the streets? Why on earth? It runs a serious risk of a) not being organised properly, b) being hi-jacked by a few tosspots out for trouble, c) upsetting the shoppers on a saturday afternoon, thereby alienating any potential outside support and giving Lowe a perfect excuse to dismiss anything you do.

I can see the many with good intentions being unable to control the ****ed up few intent on causing a trouble as all the yoof start singing "we hate Pompey" songs and the whole thing turns into a shambles before you get to the Institute.

I mean good luck and all, but why?

And I can see many negative people trying to pick holes in it before it even begins. If it is expected that it will be peopled by troublemakers and yoof singing anti-Pompey songs, then up to the more sensible people to turn up in numbers and keep them in order. Are you a more sensible person by any chance? Do you want Lowe, Wilde, Askham etc gone from the club? Then go along. If you had no intention of going anyway, please don't try and pursuade others from going with your negativity.

As for the argument that Lowe and the others won't hear it unless it's at the ground, Lowe won't hear it anyway as he's away. But he is literate and does have eyes; he can read about it. Anyway, this is aimed more at those cowardly people who prop up his regime, Wilde and Askham and other charlatans.

I have to say Special K has a point, all you need is a few fruit loops and renta oik and the whole thing will play right into his Nibs hands if it all kicks off en route. The fan on Fan fighting that we saw v Doncaster shows that it doesn't take very much.

Has anyone actually worked out what this protest is for? Are we just going to wander around the back streets of Southampton looking p!ssed off or is there actually a theme. Is it:

a) Lowe out.

b) Lowe in.

c) My whippet could run the club better than Lowe.

d) Gordon Brown is a scottish t0sser who has facked up the economy

e) Pompey are sh!te and make the welsh look good.

f) bring back the cat 'o' nine tails for Lowe's back.

g) My whippet hates Lowe.

h) We hate Lowe.

i) Lowe's a jerk.

j) Lowe knows less about football than my whippet

k) Lowe out.

l) Lowe in... (jail)

m) We are a bunch of p!ssed off Saints fans

n) Boll0x why are we here again?

o) Where's the pub

p) Whippet stop eating my toast

q) Seriously, whippet. Stop eating my toast or else.

r) Right. That's it, you disobedient cur! You're not coming on the protest march with me.

s) Lowe out.

t) Forwaaaaard March!

u) Anyone but Lowe.

v) MLT for PM (can't be worse than McBrooon)

w) Lowe out.

x) Never, in the field of human football clubs, have so many league points been lost, by one chairman, to so many fans.

y) we will fight him in the streets, we will fight him in the terraces, we will defend our football club what ever the cost! We will never surrender!

z) Lowe out.

or all of them?

Okay, this is bugging me now. People all over are bemoaning the loss or possible loss of our club. Yet all I see are post after post of the faint hearted witing for it to happen.

This march may not achieve a great deal but it is only the first shot in our armoury. Wet or dry I am going to be there. I don't, at 62, like being called a chav or any of the other names that these brave souls tender. But I love my club and my 5 yo son is learning to feel the same way. I am not prepared to sit ildly by and watch the club's demise.

If there are any Saints fans living in Salisbury who aren't going to the game but would like a lift to the march, let me know. I will drive instead of using my free bus pass.I have an 8seater so can pick up 5/6 or 7. Depending on whether or not my oldest daughter is still going.

I'm glad I will not be the only one going who is over 60! Please don't walk too fast - are St. John's Ambulance going to be there?

Wes, I'm not trying to dissuade people from going, just questioning the rationale behind the march through the streets. And quite honestly, if my post can dissuae some from going, then i would question their desire in the first place! I think that there is the potential for it to go seriously wrong. If it did, then it could end up with some negative publicity for the fans. Protest Marches are not something that can be whipped up over a few pints and a spare weekend, they require a lot of planning, detailed liaison with the Law, Council, Bus Companies, etc, etc. If it is as big as some think (i.e. 1000), then I would question whether it's the sort of thing a couple of fellas with a loudspeaker and a Citizen Smith type bravado can control. Let's hope it all goes off well, but don't accuse me of negativity, not being a proper fan, (etc, etc) and all that crap, it's a cheap argument, wheeled out all to often and it's gets a bit boring.

don't mean this as silly question, but what is the protest demanding?

Lowe step down for Crouch?

that was kinda my point in my 26-choice anti-lowe, pro-whippet post above!

What is the theme? A protest has to have an aim.... if it is just to say we are all p!ssed off then it will be a waste of time.

Could be an interesting day with all those Swansea fans coming to SMS.

Like I saw in another thread anyone wanting a lift on Saturday from Yorkshire is welcome - route Howden, Doncaster, Rotherham, Nottingham, Leicester, Northampton, Oxford and Newbury...wave me down on a bridge or roundabout!

Just as aside - I understand face book has announced a police escort. The club seems to be ignoring the fact there is a march - what are the plans for when we get there?

Is the coffin making an appearance?

Does anyone else fancy a drink after the march? I'm not setting foot inside SMS!

Will need a drink after all that walking prior to going back to the car to drive home!

I think the club are in denial - how long will it be before they acknowledge the discontent and the revolting customers. Christened the Lager Swilling Lunatic Fringe let's just be a bit more adult about it on Saturday!

Chin, chin and tally-ho.

Time's up Rupert Lowe

Time's up Rupert Lowe

Time for you and Wilde to go

E-I-E-I-O

And if you think you're staying

We simply will not come

Clear off, clear off

Clear off, clear off

Clear off Rupert Lowe

I can't believe the people on here who think you have to have a hundred page business plan before you get off your fat arse and do something. For me this is about showing some passion for the club and telling Rupert (and I don't give **** whether he's there or not) that we won't put up with his crap any longer. I will be there on Saturday. I don't know for certain whether there will be 10,100,1000 others but whatever number turn up we will show what we feel.

However many it is we are all supporting each other. Don't be afraid to keep singing, there will always be someone with you.

If you want Rupert out forego that pint in the pub, you can have that any time. Don't regret not being there.

I think everyones forgetting something major here!

We're southampton football club, we dont do things simply. It wouldn't be us if we didnt have a few arguements or muck it up somewhere along the way.

Protests are about passion not planning. We meet, we walk and songs will start, people will talk, attention will be gained!

People are moaning saying it'll look stupid and they'll be troublemakers kicking things off, well at least they'll bother to be there, and if they bring some passion then fair play. Its not about grabbing ruperts attention, he wouldn't listen if we got a sodding aircraft and flew it into saint marys.

But we will get everyone else's attention, and support.

On a serious note though, its already nearly thursday. Would be nice to have a new sticky with where we're actually meeting and when.

Reallistically, these are our objective:

1) We want Lowe to stand down, and the club to appoint Someone Else as Chief Executive.

2) We want Wotte immediately sacked. We want all other staff employed by Lowe sacked.

3) We want all staff sacked by Lowe re-employed. This would give us an unbeatable management team of Pearson-Wigley-Sturrock-Poortviet-Gray and not-a-paedophile-Jones

4) We want all players under 23 sent back to the youth team. We want the club to procure a team of experienced senior pros like last season.

And we want it now! COYR!
