R.I.P. John Prine

John Prine died today aged 73. He was a great American singer-songwriter, who emerged on the music scene in the early 1970s.

 

He was one of those songwriters who were much admired and covered. Favourite songs of mine: "Sam Stone", "Paradise", "Angel from Montgomery", "Dear Abby", and "Hello in There".

 

Another victim of Covid-19. So sad.

He was one of the great singer-songwriters. I saw him on his last European tour at the London Palladium in April, 2017.
